I can't believe nobody has made an "Omar Soundboard" type of thing on the internet.

I was searching for one the other day and couldn't find one.

Also, much like Seth, it took me a few tries to get through Season 1. I think I was just expecting so much because I heard so much about it and I was a little disappointed with the flow.

I was probably expecting an action packed crime drama about gangbangers in the streets and what not. Once you just watch the show and settle in and understand the premise of it and get to know the characters, you will get sucked in.

Dexter is absolutely an awful show now. It was awesome in the beginning, but if you still find it awesome then you just don't mind plot regurgitation.

maybe for you, but thats not the opinion of everyone. if a show has a good couple of seasons, ill watch them regardless. weeds seasons 1-3 were amazing, then fell off the wagon into an awful show, but i wouldn't call weeds an awful show overall, because it had 3 very strong seasons IMO. same can be said for dexter

Just power through the first season man. It's tough, but it does pick up towards the end. It's the weirdest season of the series in my opinion (although a lot of people think that about season 2) because it seems to literally pick up in the middle of a book. The whole show is a slow burn in general, but the first season is all about paying attention to EVERY tiny thing, and that builds the characters, and then each season just builds more. It took me a couple of tries to really plow through season 1, but once I got to about episode 7 or 8 (it's a pretty significant situation in whatever episode it is, you'll know it) and I was hooked from then on.

just watched episode 1. it seemed way more interesting than i remembered. i should be able to get through it this time. i dont have anything else to watch right now other than game of thrones, so im pretty interested this go around

What can be said about Weeds works both ways. I've wanted to watch that show for awhile now but can never bring myself to do it because I hear the last few seasons are complete shit ala just like Dexter.

W/e someone asks me about Dexter I say it was good but its complete shit now and you shouldn't watch it. I'd rather steer them towards shows they have been consistently good like Justified, Homeland, BB, Boardwalk, ect. Seasons 1-4 are good to awesome but the last 2 seasons and their next 2 seasons appear to be complete shit.

yeah thats a bit different then saying its an awful show overall. again, i can agree with this. dexter has some GREAT seasons, just because the last couple have been bad does NOT make it an awful show overall in my opinion

Dexter is an awful show though. Those great seasons ended up turning into nothing because they wanted to milk the series. That great 4th season seems absolutely pointless now because here Dexter is still putting his son in danger even though he said he'd change, but the thing is, he never will change.

The perfect ending to Dexter would have been to do a 5th season where he faces the consequences of the 4th that force him to make an ultimatum but again they milked it.

All five. Simon said he preferred the gritty look of SD 4:3. If I remember correctly it was shot in 16x9 but they still cropped the frame to 4:3. I want to say DirectTV was re-airing them in 16x9 HD but I can't say for sure.

Homicide was a great show too. The book was great as well. One of the detectives mentioned in it, that later became a character on The Wire, Jay Landsman, now works for our department in Homicide. He doesn't look anything like that fat ass on the show though.
