I don't have the game but from the beta it seemed to have a lot more of a deliberate pace, ala Battlefield, not CoD.

From the matches I've played that's definitely the feel I've been getting. People actually take cover, help each other out and whatnot instead of just running around like a bunch of hyenas.

Maynard, you didn't play the beta at all? That would've given you a pretty good idea. many people actually have this game and for what console? When I do get it I'll get it for PS3 but I'm just curious. It seems the community on nearly every game around here is bigger on PS3.

Ghost Recon used to be a unique part of the shooting genre. Even the Advanced Warfighter era did enough to differentiate itself from the arcade shooters like CoD, although it changed dramatically from its original characteristics. Future Soldier has lost the fucking plot. Take "active camo" for example - if you're in the crouched position you're invisible to all enemies until you get to within about 10 feet. You can be walking right down the middle of a sniper's sightline and go unnoticed. Active camo is right out of the Activision playbook of unrealistic nonsense to make the game easier and faster-paced and it sucks that a game which used to be different has deliberately made itself so vanilla.

Dunno who'd be willing to trudge through the campaign 4 times, each time for each player to host, without wanting to tapout early.

Because team deathmatch is just more fun. The extent of teamwork is largely down to the makeup of the players not the game objective, I just want to play in public lobbies and try to kill the enemy as a team more times than we die.

I should have had this by now, but Ive been slacking. I'll be getting it soon. Does it have long term value?

i played through the first 4 missions of the SP game. its pretty good. the story is simple, but good. The gamplay is soiid with alot of stealthy action. As far as tactical goes, i wouldnt say that its tactical because u cant control you team and can only issue very basic firing commands. Its more of a stealth game. you basically sneak around in crouching camo mode and try and take out the bad guys without raising alarms. Its fun so i cant complain.

they give you weapons loadouts where u can customize your guns before the mission, but this seems tacked on and pretty pointless. Then you get frag and sensors, plus the UAV drone. I find myself using the UAV drone to mark enemies for my squad to kill.

one nice thing about the missions is u have challenges you can try to complete. they are realistic challenges that give people incentive to replay the game. Plus they flow into the mission so they dont feel cheap.

Player movement feels good. a little on the heavy side, but nothing i would complain about. Graphics are not gonna blow anyone away thats for sure. But they look good. no framerate or stutter issues on the 360.

its a refreshing change for shooters. its 3rd person and its not at all designed to be run and gun. Overall i think its a solid game and i would spend $60 on it again...keeping in mind i have not touched coop or online which i am sure just add to the value

i didnt play much past what i posted in june. i started playing another game and then sold my 360 and this game.

i still stand by my original impressions. if you can get it for $40 i think thats totally worth it. not sure how much interest people have around here in coop or MP
