I think KJ is a really good athlete, very quick, picked up the sprawl and scramble game, he is quicker than Penn at this point

I think he leaves himself open because he is drawing guys in and knows he can out strike them, I think its a tactic at this point, he stays in the pocket and uses head movement, shoulder rolling, etc...

His style is def interesting and makes for good fights, I just wonder how well that will hold up against a true power puncher. All it takes is one shot in MMA and rolling with punches against a strong striker doesn't work as well as it does in boxing.

Penn looks pretty good there, I think KJ is quicker and fights quicker also, plus he flows more, BJ will work the jab and uses more of a basic style, KJ understands the overall striking game more IMO, he has 10 plus boxing and kickboxing matches, he has put the work in a long time, BJ is a freak though

I don't see a LW light will outstrike KJ at this point besides a hail mary KO shot

sidenote: Sorry guys, not trying to hi jack the thread, but I like to hear what Mamba has to say but trying to get him to comment on a non-UFC thread is like pulling teeth these days

No doubt Noons has a deeper tool box and better fundamentals when it comes to boxing, I was just trying to compare them from an athletic and speed perspective. The thing about it for me is guys like Penn rarely get caught with a clean, flush, power shot, rarely. Part of that is his quick twitch type of speed, until he gets gassed at least. Could you imagine Penn being knocked out cold by Krazy Horse? Not in a million years right. Like you said though that's apart of Noons style, against higher competition if he's not more cautious he could be taking a big risk.

KJ has been caught clean once, by Krazy Horse who has big time power, even Gomi didnt want to trade with him, KJ has a pretty good chin though, he went the distance with Dida who can hit hard also

BJ has one of the best chins in MMA though, he has been caught clean though by even Matt Hughes standing (gassed of course), GSP hit him a bunch and others have, he just has that crazy hawaiin chin thing going

of course style wise BJ would get hit less, stays on the outside, uses his reach, etc...

If Toney lays one clean punch on Captain America...does Captain America drop?

This is pretty much a classic puncher v. wrestler match...does this match come down to whether or not Toney can land one punch? We all know Randy won't even dirty box with Tony and he'll lay and pray for three rounds if he can to a unanimous decision or ground n pound or some sort of ground based stoppage (choke, whatever).

But, lets say, early in the fight...Toney lands ONE clean shot to Natural's chinny chin chin...does it stop the fight or does Natural overcome the odds?

Toney isnt a power puncher, but Randy's chin is almost done, a clean shot and he will be dropped or wobbled, but with Toneys lack of wrestling Randy can still fall forward and get it to the ground if he is not out clean

If it goes to the ground its over, Toney will be flopping around and will be lost, no way it goes to a decision because Randy laid on Toney

Also, boxers dont magically have more power than guys in MMA, it is not a power punching/haymaker sport, top boxers are top boxers because they can box, they can hit you and not get hit for rounds and rounds, they have many many more tools in the game of boxing, defense being the biggest thing that seperates them from the MMA strikers, even K-1 which is more of a kill or be killed sport because of the rules

I dont think theres much question about it.. if Toney hits Randy clean that shit is done..
