No. I think he would get worked in the stand up. He's a great prospect, but right now, he has a long way to go before he's really elite. Great ground control and very active, but its going to take more than that.

Alright after staying away from this thread for the whole day...here are my thoughts:
Hardy vs Davis: Hardy looked real good, very entertaining guy, lots of solid blows landed by both.
Uno vs Fisher: A pretty technical fight, as Rogan pointed out they both canceled each other out, that flury at the end by Uno was nice.
Swick vs Saunders: I called this fight @ 12am yesterday..Swick in the 2nd via Ref Stoppage...Swick is one of my favs, guy is just brutal when he gets going.
Cro Cop vs Al-Turk: Eye Poking aside, Cro Cop showed a glimpse of him being back.
Kongo vs Velasquez: Very disappointed in Kongo, Velasquez just had his way on the ground. Kongo was working him stand up wise, but why the hell did he keep clinching?
Franklin vs Silva: Dont know who they got a unanimous decision out of it, but it was a entertaining fight, the flurry of elbows and punches at the end was cool to watch.

Just a couple quick thoughts on the PPV today. First off I really hate to see Wand lose, I always have a lot of respect for any fighter who's truely passionate about the sport and Wand is certainly one of those guys. Hopefully he sticks around for as long as physically possible. But, just as I said in my prediction Rich Franklin can take Wands best shot and at this point in their careers he's simply the better overall fighter of the two.
And to Rob, obviously Cro Cop won so I can't take too much away from him. But, honestly that's an elite level striker? The guy is an elite kicker, but that's not elite level striking right there.

I know what it is, but i dont see how you can say he won that Unanimously, i figured it would be a split decision....
Franklin won round 1, Silva took round 2, round three was very close the only way i can see all three judges giving that round to Franklin was because of the takedown.

CroCops performance was pretty mediocre. He looked pretty timid.. looking for him Al-Turk is just a wreckless ass dude that was leaving himself open to get knocked.

People associate UD's with a lopsided fight. But, a fight can be close as hell and still be a UD, so there's nothing wrong at all with Rich pulling the UD tonight. Clearly he won, but it was still super close.

You can say he won unanimously because all 3 judges thought he won two rounds.

I understand that. but IMO i dont think the takedown was that big though, it played a part, but i dont see how it swung the third round in franklins favor on all three cards.

Forget the takedown, the biggest thing in that round and throughout the fight was ring generalship. Rich was in command for that entire fight.

Wand had a 5 second flurry. He didn't win that round, and he looked like he was going to fall over from exhaustion from the beginning of round 2.
