archer kind of hit on 1 key thing. if the ball is left over the plate, expect it to get hit
Agreed, which I just found out the hard way vs Irish. He's going to be a thorn in the regular Sombrero players sides, cause he's stupidly patient at the plate compared to most of ya's, myself included.
Held him to 5 hits, but 3 left the park and totaled 6 runs. Got 5 and had a chance to tie in the 8th but got thrown out at home.
Game was pretty damn fun.
Forgot to change the slider for RP stamina, just did that now. Keep me posted on it.
The pitch speed slider made all the difference in the world IMO, if you can force patience you can really sit back and wait on the pitch you want, while the pitch works his count up. I had Hamels up there by the 4th, which made him vulnerable to attack and score from. It was fun.
I notice the league rosters are the out-of-the-box rosters.
KG, did you have an option for the most current roster update? I'm assuming everyone will want to use whatever is most current to start with when we start for real?
Maynard set this up actually, I guess he did. Doesn't matter much, we'll sort out rosters for the real season as we get there. We can go custom or SCEA, it's up to us (assuming custom rosters are working by then, figure they will be). That way we can have real players in the minors to call up.
I also recommend that everybody screws around with the transactions as much as they can, because last year it was very buggy and its better to catch these things now.
I plan on moving guys up and down from the minors frequently and trying out the DL every time someone gets hurt, just to make sure that shit works right and/or doesnt cause bugs.
Will FA's and trades be OFF for the real season?
I don't know, that's something we can discuss throughout spring. I've used all the roster management stuff (lineups, rotations, called up/sent down) without problem so far.
Played a second game v Philly (6-4 Marlins)
Hitting seems really friendly on these settings
Anything near the plate with early, good, perfect timing had a chance to leave the park or go for a double
Yep, I think by the time we get comfortable hitting might be too easy. May have to close the timing window a touch if it gets there.
I just played Malbin, 2-1 final, 7 total hits between us.
He struck out 20 times, I struck out 12 (I think). I cant speak for him, but most of my K's were just shitty hitting.
The ball was MUCH easier to pick up with the sliders, but i'm not making judgements on one game.
I intentionally went to my bullpen early, to test out RP stamina. I had one RP go 2 innings (20 something pitches), next game i'll see where he is at stamina wise.
I want to push someone to 3 innings next game. Any RP that goes 3 should be unuasable for a game or two.
That game would have default RP stamina, your next game has the updated slider.
