VSN Baseball Spring Training Random Thoughts

I think the people who mostly play franchise and RTTS have more trouble with the pitch speed because of how smooth it is so it feels much faster. Since i mostly play online i dont have as much trouble adjusting as much.

I also like All-Star hitting much more than Veteran hitting but i have never tried Hall of Fame.
Legend i just feel over matched but can get some good at bats but hitting is much harder on that level.

This game is a fucking disaster online.

Played 2 games tonight with great connections and no lag, and this game still sucks goat testicles. Pitch speed needs to be turned up, I don't know why everyone wants to keep playing on these settings. Everyone is flailing away early at offspeed stuff, and when looking for a fastball people are still swinging early at 94mph cheese. Ugh.....TURN THE FUCKING PITCH SPEED UP! :club:

Every game is a chore to get through. I fanned Stealth 20 times with Wade Davis. He was swinging early on just about everything. Loads of fun.

Veteran hitting is a bore. Hit variety is terrible. .

agree with just about all of this. idk if the lowered pitch speed is the issue though. judging the ball is where i think the problem is. i see a pitch coming in like a fastball and next thing i know it breaks down out of the zone. i cant pick it up. anything on the corners or down in the zone seems almost impossible to make contact with.

idk if raised contact, power, timing and solid hits would be the better way to go. Guys were swinging way early when the pitch speed was on default. i would have hoped that the lower speed would help, but i see people swing early on everything too. All u need is a change and slider and u can dominate

i agree its a chore. pitching isnt even fun now cause its so easy to fool people and it doesnt even feel like u were the one who fucked them up. it just feels like the they cant see the ball....same as me

i dont think raisign the hitting level would help, but i agree that the hits people get are not varied at all.

I played Maynard on default HOF hitting and pitching and thought it was great. I enjoyed having an offense again. Maynard my choose to disagree however. oops:

not alot of posting, but 13 teams got in 4+ games this week, not bad. a couple other guys joined late or were MIA for a bit.

based on the first week, 12-16 for the regular season is what we're looking at. still could change, but we'll see.

I have also read that believe it or not rookie vs rookie plays out very well with hit varietys ect!One wouldnt think that would be the case but hell its worth a shot and i would be down to run 1 on those settings!i will be on most of the night tonight if anyone wants to scrimmage on this!

sabathia is a fuckin cunt. every pitch is half on the zone and very hard to generate consistent hits. god fuckin damn these NYY/TOR series gonna be fun. :flex:

it took me a few innings to get use to the speed again, I had so many check swings early. It threw me off a bit but it was a good game, Sabathia was just gliding through that game.

played Scmukie last night in a great game but it seems HR's are too frequent. In a 17 inning game Padres win 3-2 where the game saw 5 solo HR's. We both had about 8 hits a piece.

HR's still are a bit high but the hits are definitely there.

Obviously having a game with few hits is okay, these still are going to happen, but the regular game seems to be alright with the amount of hits. Also, not everyone is going to find the settings we go with to be "perfect" for their ability because we have a varying degree of skill amongst the players, so that's one thing to keep in the back of your mind when you judge how the game plays.

I'll continue to monitor box scores throughout the week and maybe make one more tweak as we head into the weekend. We're very close from being able to start, the settings are close and I'm pretty sure I know my 16 players.
