Mike Webster went into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1997 in much the same way he performed for 15 seasons with the Steelers. His sleeves weren't rolled up to show off those bulging biceps. But his tie was off, his jacket was discarded and he even snapped a football to his old quarterback, Terry Bradshaw.

Not exactly traditional Hall of Fame protocol on the steps of pro football's hallowed shrine. But, perhaps, the perfect format for Webster, 45, who played in more Pro Bowls, nine, than any offensive lineman in National Football League history.

After retirement, Mike dealt with many personal and financial problems that included a separation from his wife, Pam, and treatment for depression.
He would die five short years after induction, September 24, 2002, at the age of 50.

For many, the details of Ringo's trade to the Eagles in 1964 have been the subject of speculation. For years it was said that following the 1963 season, Ringo showed up in Coach Lombardi's office, with an agent in tow, looking to negotiate a raise. Lombardi, according to this account, was so angered that he excused himself for five minutes only to return and announce that he had traded Ringo to the Eagles. Over the years it has been suggested that that story is more fiction than fact.

A step back in time - to the call that sprung a thousand up-the-gut running plays that made the Green Bay offense the most feared in the NFL. Here, Hall of Fame Fullback Jim Taylor is bursting through a hole opened up by Ringo in a game against Cleveland on October 15, 1961, (a 49-17 Packers victory).​
