With Mason possibly retiring, and all the rest of our receivers contracts expiring. We got the 2 WR we needed and in consecutive rounds.

Also, I weighed what I could get late at CB (since that seems to be a small need). There are way to many good corners to jump on one right now. We'll find our "Ladarius Webb" of 2010 later in the draft.

I heard the 49ers are gonna try Clements out at FS and if that is right they really need a CB in the first round. In the '09 season the 49ers weren't good against the pass as it is.

That's not happening. That's all writer bullshit. Clements is staying at corner, Goldson is staying at FS. The team is looking for someone to try and replace Michael Lewis, but it doesn't make sense for that to be a priority. They could add depth at cb in the draft but that's their DEEPEST position on the team. If you want to question how I KNOW that's their deepest position then just ask yourself how are you gonna lose both starting CB's(Clements/Harris) for the season and still end a top 10 defense if that's not your deepest position? Clements/Harris/Spencer/Brown are all expected expected to return. If we re-sign Bly then he's there too. I don't see CB as a high priority. Some other fool said the 9ers deepest position was WR, and saying so tells me the guy never watched the 9ers play and has no idea what he's talking about.

Offensive line is a high priority and I think they'll look to draft someone who can start there if one is available otherwise BPA. I don't think a starting T can be taken at 16/17, so that's why I think they'd go BPA or draft Tate(who i think is the best wr this draft), who I want them to draft and who I'd put in a mock at 16/17.

9ers are in a position to take BPA at both picks. The arguments/logic behind people's selections are ridiculous, so that's why I'm telling them how it really is.

We have a bunch of corners who are all getting up there in age. Bly and Harris are basically two more years tops. They need to be replaced ASAP.

I tend to agree with you that the Steelers won't draft an OT with the first pick, but the way that the mock went, I think jake picked a good player. I would have probably went CB/S/MLB/OLine

the only defense we need to draft is db and there were no top prospects on the board still when it was my pick. o-line is a huge need and had a great player availible. the only other option was runningback and even if willie leaves we have logan, moore andf mendenhall. stfu and go back to plagarizing mel kiper and mcshay.

The only defense, not actually jake. Farrior is getting up there in age so I wouldn't mind if they picked up a guy for the inside, but it's not a complete necessity and I don't mind your pick actually because although I think there might have been better options out there, it was a solid pick.

I do however think the secondary is something that needs to be addressed in this draft and I think the first round could have been a statement, however there weren't any players that fell to 18, but if Earl Thomas or Mays fell that far, I would have to think the Steelers go with one of them instead of o-line.

Anyways, I liked the pick.

That's probably one of the most retarded comments I've seen here. They draft a Quarterback in the first round, pay him first round money, only starts 9 games, still has a lot of time to grow and learn the offense, but after 9 games they will decide that they want to pay another Quarterback first round money when they have other needs, like defensive tackle, wide receiver, and safety.

adembroski made the first pick, I made the second pick, and trojan49er made the 2nd round pick. In case you missed it, we took Vladimir Ducasse from UMass. So, two o-linemen and a safety on day one. I would be ecstatic with that draft.

Then in the third I would start looking for that all-purpose Bush/Harvin/Cribbs player who can create problems in the return game, backfield, and out on passing routes.

Only thing I wouldve done differently is Thomas over Mays, but adem made the pick and I'm not really all that disappointed with it, Thomas projects as more of a FS anyway, thats how Im rationalizing it
