Think of it as the invasion system of Dark Souls: you're playing your game, and suddenly you are being hacked. Another player has infiltrated your game and is hacking you from an unknown position. You have to use the Profiler to root him out and kill him or otherwise make him abort the hack. This was shown in the first part.

Alternatively, you can enter other people's games and try to hack their phone. If they spot you, you escape. This was the second part.


Here's the kicker - you're both playing as Aiden Pierce. But since there can be only one Aiden, you as the player are always him. The other player is always displayed as an NPC. But in HIS game, HE is Aiden and you are displayed as an NPC.

According to Watch Dogs senior producer Dominic Guay, Disrupt was built based on four major ideas: connectivity, dynamism, visible impact on the in-game city of Chicago and the flexibility to run on both current and next-gen hardware. Players will be able to seamlessly switch between playing online with others and disconnecting to play their isolated game without affecting the in-game environment.

"There's no loading or matchmaking or waiting for a game to start," Guay said. "That means that every single thing in the game needed to be ready to be synchronized with the network. Every aspect of animation and physics and the AI needed to work online with other players."

Other players will only be able to enter your game world by accepting a bounty contract bearing your name -— after which they can stalk through your world until they're ready to take you down. This foreign player will look like a random NPC to you, so there won't be two version of protagonist Aiden walking around. This multiplayer mode will be unavailable during story missions, so other players won't be able to interrupt your progress.

In Watch Dogs, all actions will have widespread effects. Rain will cause NPCs to pull out umbrellas and a strong wind will make them pull their coats tighter. Larger events, like car crashes, will cause traffic to backup and maybe push a few NPCs out of their cars to investigate. Aiden's actions will also affect how Chicago residents feel about him; stealthily taking down targets out of view will keep things calm, but running around openly killing people may cause NPCs to turn against him.

Watch Dogs Delayed Until Spring 2014

Ubisoft's open-world game Watch Dogs has been pushed back to spring of 2014, the publisher just announced on their blog.P

"Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming," the company wrote. "It is with this in mind that we’ve made the tough decision to delay the release until spring 2014."P

Watch Dogs, originally slated for a November release, was due to be a big launch game for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which will both be out that month. It's also slated for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC.P

"We know a lot of you are probably wondering: Why now?" Ubisoft wrote. "We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality. As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.P

Ubisoft also announced today that their open-world racing game, The Crew, will be delayed until the next fiscal year, which ranges from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015.

They SHOULD just either refund the $60 extra towards the game or give us a voucher for the game. I swear to god if they cancel those bundles, I will go ape shit.
