Week 3 Pros/Cons for your team

Pros:
Shaun Hill, hell of a performance off the bench. Made a big throw to Calvin in OT too. And obviously the Hail Mary.
Calvin came up big in the second half
Jason Hanson for his onside kick skills and being the greatest Lion ever.


Cons:
Secondary is disgusting.
Special teams errors highlighted our lack of depth
Stafford looked timid again, afraid to go for the big play it seems this year.
Weak playcall at the end of the game. Poor execution since apparently it was supposed to try and draw them offside. Should've gone for it, but done a play action as we had 1v1 matchups all over the place. Got to take a risk sometimes and that was definitely the time to do it.

-Jets won, going 2-1
-Robert Malone was booming some punts, good to have a punter who can change field position for us.

CONS
-Run game continues to faulter. I'm sick of Shonn Greene running in back of offensive linemen and getting caught in the back. He's a terrible receiver out of the backfield. At this point I wanna see more McKnight and Powell...I don't give a shit.
-Lucky Bush got hurt...he had some big runs later but we did a better job stopping the run. Still speedy backs continue to fuck us.
-We are still too slow, pass rushing much at all...it's time to see more of Kendrick Ellis and Coples...
-Revis getting hurt, HUGE blow. Now we will lean on heavily on Lankster and Trufant, both of which I'm scared to death to have out there. Time to change the secondary n how we defend there

sidenote- The phins did everything to lose this game. BEtween Carpenter missing two FG's, and Tannehill was just AWFUL, as he threw up 2-3 deep passes in OT to try and score a TD...for what? They were moving the ball solid in the intermediate passing game but those deep balls, they could have gained 5-10 yards to give Carp a better shot at the FG.

I guess Hill was really trying to sell it by looking like he was going to sneak. It was dumb to do that though, they should've called time out and made sure everyone was on the same page if that was the plan. Personally I wanted to see a play action as I've mentioned way too much by now because I think we would've won the game doing that.

- I dunno. Eric Decker finally had a big game I guess.

- Knowshon Moreno was inactive, hopefully this is permanent.

CONs

- The secondary looked lost the entire first half. No reason for Andre Johnson to as wide open as he was on a couple of those plays.


At least we took a piece of Schaub's ear off...

(I still contend that is a clean hit BTW)

-ANDRE THE GIANT...one of the best running performances I have seen from a Giant's RB in a long time
-Ramses Barden stepped up huge with Cruz getting constant double coverage
-Defense played great....made big stops when they had to and didnt let the Panthers get into any rhythm at all
-Martellus Bennett continues his stellar play
-Lawrence Tynes perfect 5-5 on field goals

-The FG was wide

The Refs were calling every ticky tack play. Ladarius Webb picked Brady off after letting go of Welker before he went 5 yards, but the refs called a penalty on the defense and allowed the Patriots to get a 1st down and continue to run the clock. Had the Pats won, Ravens fans would have said the same thing, because the Refs were fucking the Ravens in the ass all game.

As for the FG, it went over the top of the right pole. Therefore it was Good.

Now onto the topic at hand.

Pros:

-Ray Rice is dominant.
-Torrey Smith can be a leading receiver.
-Dennis Pitta is legit
-Ladarius Webb may be a top 3 corner in the league.
-Justin Tucker can make clutch kicks, as well as hit from 56+
-Ravens are nearly unbeatable at home.

Cons:
- Defense can't stop the pass.
- Defense has practically no pass rush when rushing 3-4 men.
- Flacco is still learning the hurry up
- Ravens secondary doesn't play enough bump-run, which leads to easy 5 yd gains... specially against Cary Williams.

Groaned for calling someone out when you admitted you'd be doing the same thing had NE won.

Pros

Defense looks legitimately good through 3 games. Didn't think changing the corners would make that huge a difference, but it has - aside from Bruce Carter now starting and Jay Ratliff being out, this is the exact same front 7 as last year. And even though you have to take their opponents into account... they're ranked #1 after three weeks. That's amazing.

Secondary - kudos to Mike Jenkins for coming back and doing what's asked of him. He did well when he was out there. I know he can be good when he's healthy. Props to Brandon Carr for not letting his ego get in the way and shifting to safety in certain situations. $50 Mil free agents generally don't do that.

I don't trust kickers, but Dan Bailey is pretty reliable.


Cons

I didn't think it was possible that this offensive line could be worse, but it really is. Romo won't make it through this season if this nonsense keeps up. He's running for his life almost every snap. I have no idea how this bunch managed to slow down the Giants pass rush in Week 1.

Penalties - I don't even know what to say anymore. It was a problem under Parcells, it was a problem under Phillips, and it's totally out of control under Garrett. I have no clue why this team continues to be so undisciplined. Always with the false starts, formation penalties, and offsides. Dummy stuff.

Losing Barry Church sucks. I was starting to hitch my wagon to him as the latest UDFA stud for the team. Got so much better in coverage this past offseason/preseason and was the only guy in the secondary who could really bring the wood. I hope he makes a full recovery.

Defense gave up over 500 yards, Flacco threw for almost 400 yards and Rice ran for over 100, but the Patriots defense played well? I would really hate to see what they look like when they play poorly?

Also, there is a team in Texas that is better than the Patriots, Ravens, and everyone else in the AFC, IMO.

Besides the penalties late, which in a game like NE/BAL, I understand things are getting heated. However, you can't really debate yardage in the NFL anymore. With the lack of kick returns now, offenses have more field to work with, and in turn, that means more offense. Also, when you have an offense that can put up points, you are also going to put up yardage as the other team works the pass to get back in the game. You've got to look at turnovers, and how well the defense does in different situations, not overall yardage, when you are in a game like this.

I don't really agree with that, I don't think any defense that gives up 500+ yards in the past or in the future would be considered an acceptable performance regardless of the situations or turnovers or whatever the case may be. I do agree yardage isn't the end all be all when it comes to defense stats, but when you give up 500+? But, even all that considered, I don't know how you could say the Patriots defense played well. They gave up two drives at the end of the game to lose the game and hadn't really been all that good prior to that either.

Maybe I am just looking at it from a Ravens fans POV, where the entire fanbase was ready to fire everyone involved with the defense and cut everyone after they gave up 500 yards to the Eagles.

cons:
- shitty 1st half play-calling by reid and mornhingweg (20+ passes and only 5 runs for Mccoy)
- D actually made Kevin (Korn) Kolb look like an actual NFL starting-caliber QB
- o-line looked like they couldn't block my high school squad, which is even worse with the midgets coming to town sunday night.
- don't really feel like typing much else.
