How is it bad execution? There was like 25 seconds left. The Jags had another 30 or so yards to go before they were in field goal range. It was just an awful decision. Why risk it just for the 5 percent chance you MIGHT get the ball back and MIGHT be able to get it close enough?

If Hayden catches the ball obviously the timeout is forgotten. But he didn't, and the timeout probably screwed us.

Jags played a great game though. Always do against us.

all they needed was the 3rd down stop and peyton gets the ball back. he played the percentages. jax not exactly known for converting 3rd downs. then u give peyton about 30 seconds with 2 timeouts to get in FG range, i like those odds

bad execution because ur counting on ur d to make ONE stop, im not saying it was the best decision ever, but it gave them a chance. if the timeout wasnt taken jags just kill clock and possibly end it in OT.i believe whoever got the ball first would have ended up winning. garrard could have possibly blown it in regulation (as shown by the first play after the TO). in the end, the timeout did more harm than good, but it was worth a shot, colts almost got the ball back.

The time out didn't force them to do shit. They still could have run the clock after the TO if they really wanted to. They chose not to do so. If a team wants to let the clock run out, trying to force them to go for the win is stupid.

Especially when you consider how Indy's D was playing and how much time the offense would have even if they managed to get the ball back.

Congrats to the Jags, I thought they were going to get blown out. Nice job by the homers that stuck with their team in this one, showin good faith.

Colts defense looked so soft. Couldn't stop the run, couldn't get any pressure on Garrard, and makin Garrard look like a pro bowl QB. They got a lot of work to do.

Manning's WRs didn't help him out in this one. As good as Manning is, his receivers outside of Wayne and Clark are going to struggle because they just aren't that good and it showed in this game.

Do you have any idea what you're saying? You really think Del Rio was going to run the ball again? There was 20 some seconds left. If he runs the ball again there he is by far the biggest moron in the NFL. LOL @ even the announcers were saying it. The same announcers that came to the brilliant conclusion that some guys gloves were the reason he couldn't make a catch.

The point of sitting around with 3 timeouts against a struggling offense is to stop them and go to OT. Once again, 20-30 seconds left. Not nearly enough time on 2ND DOWN to even begin thinking of getting the ball back. The main objective at that point is to let the clock run out to 0:00 and head to overtime, not overthink things and give the other team the opportunity to stab you in the heart.

Awful, awful call. Anybody who thinks anything else has brain damage.

I can't get over your reasoning for this being a good call. Because Hayden almost made an interception? Has there ever been a coach in the history of football to make that call in that same situation HOPING To get a turnover?! No chance in hell. You play for overtime in that scenario.
