Lost In Translation

Good movie. I've always found Japanese culture to be very interesting and there were some cool scenes showcasing it. Murray and Johansson were great, and I loved how the movie didn't end up like every other movie with a similar man meets woman situation.

Narc - Interesting tale of redemption for a former undercover narcotics cop after a tragic incident.

The Big Red One - Lee Marvin leads another bunch of soldiers (not criminals this time around) during World War II.

Reservoir Dogs

Probably the 4th or 5th time I've seen it but I hadn't watched it in years.

My girlfriend and her family hadn't seen it so naturally I made them watch it tonight. They were all just blown away by the ending and Mr. Blonde's little dance scene.

Phenomenal movie. Almost forgot just how great it is. 10/10.

Meh manga adaption. Shitty acting but for a low budget movie, I can't knock the movie really. Still a decent watch. It was fine from the beginning, but then it felt the need to try and cram 10 short stories all into the last 40 minutes (if that), which is damn near impossible especially since they average 30 pages each. The visuals were awesome and some parts were just as creepy as the manga. I would recommend that you read the manga instead because it is just a brilliant piece of work.

Jennifer's body- The story was pretty dumb, the dialogue was pretty bad. Did actually make me laugh a few times though and to some degree I did enjoy it (so bad its good). I've also realized that Fox has reached the point that I will watch any movie that she's in, even if its sucks. She's that damn hot. I finally found a replacement for Lindsay Lohan as the "that movie looks like it sucks but she's hot so I'll see it"

Extract- From the guy who made Office Space. This was a similar movie, in that they both mock and exagerate working life (and the people in it), but this isn't a rehash.

Solid movie, it didn't bring the lulz like Office Space, but it was funny enough. Plus, it has Mila Kunis.

I'd give it a solid 7/10.

There's no blood, no guts, no brains splattered on the wall in this one; this isn't Jim Cavezel getting the shit beat out of him for an hour straight; no... this is much worse.

Heat - I bought this a couple of months ago just for it to sit with the rest of my movies until tonight. I finally sat down and watched this from beginning to end, and it didn't disappoint. The movie simply kicks ass. Great story with good character development with some badass shootouts to boot. There aren't many post-1990 Michael Mann directed movies that I don't like (I haven't watched Ali yet), and this one is no exception.

It's only the 19th of January and I've already made my once-yearly trip to the cinema.

Then I couldn't really miss this one could I? Andy Serkis as Ian Dury? A seasoned up hyena could not be more obscener.

Highly recommended. Yet it's a sad reflection of the times we live in when I was, at the ripe old age of nearly 32, the fifth youngest person in the theatre when the film started...yet when it finished I was the youngest by a clear 15 years. I hesitate to shed a tear for the young today but it must be fucking horrible to grow up in times without true creatives, originals and one-offs like Ian Dury. With nothing to guide you through the formative years of your life but floppy-haired, tight-jeaned emo kids; identikit, warbling R&B bints; or the industry standard "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!", abs, gold chain and tough (not at all middle-class and comfortable, honest) upbringing rappers.

Don't know how much distribution it'll have in the States but try and get hold of a DVD if you're the type of person who genuinely loves music.
