That's right, I still haven't let it go.

I am now watching one of the best Japanese American remakes...John Sturges' Seven Samurai remake...The Magnificent Seven.

I was about to suggest that one to you.. One of the best westerns of all-time.

Aussie film. Tony Martin is the Det. Sgt. Also, the ending had a ''Usual Suspects'' close to it - He knew all the details of each murder, and the smirk at the end as he walked down the street, pretty much told me everything I needed to know. They blew it.

Your opinion makes more sense then mine. I think your right. I originally thought he was lying about the murders because the the 1st half hes scared guy then boom, all of a sudden hes a wise cracker. He mentions that the most intresting cases are the ones where there is no motive and they dont know why they did it. Then when they ask him why he lied about his story, he keeps saying it was for food and what they wanted to hear, but I think he really was doing what he said. he had no motive, he lied because he could and because he wanted too.

I def liked Hugo Weaving in the 2nd half of the movie, this was the 1st movie ive seen him in other then the Matrix series.

Both are pretty much classics.

Oh, and as mentioned...TCM is kicking my ass today with laziness...started of this morning with How the West Was Won, then hit up The Magnificent Seven, then took a swing at Maverick, now just finished The Great Escape.

Think I am going to take a TCM break as they are going with Bullitt next and The French Connection...might pick it up when the Warren Beatty and Faye Dunnaway Bonnie and Clyde.

Not extremely difficult but there's a lot there to wrestle with, especially in The Searchers.

I really wish you had given the names of the people who nominated that thing that high - they should be banned from voting.

I'd struggle to find a place for it in my top 100, if I made one... Actually, I wouldn't, because it wouldn't be listed... and the saddest part was, there was worse movies that made that list.

I'm a big fan of The Usual Suspects but that's neither here, nor there since plenty people had it higher than I, putting in the top 20. Sadly, I had a computer crash since & lost that data - haven't gone back to MM to try & retrieve it, either.

I guess my point is when you get a group of guys mostly between 16 & 25 making a greatest movies list that kind of stuff is bound to happen. Plenty of them won't even watch a black and white movie and some won't watch anything made before they were born. I wouldn't be surprised if most that voted had never seen Seven Samurai or it's American remake, The Magnificient Seven. So when I gathered and counted all the ballots no movie upset me with where it ranked. Some surprised, but not upset.

Anyhoo, I may fire that up to do one for this site. I'm interested to see how much different/the same it will turn out. Maybe later this month, or next month.
