No one knew who the hell he was until he talked noise to Tom Brady after that game last season. He is the smartest guy in the NFL and knows going full bore with this act gets him more attention from the media and into the heads of opposing players. Also it will help him next time he is negotiating a contract lol.

He will get as much hype as Manning leading up to the Super Bowl. I find him pretty annoying.

No issue with it. Here the thing guys puffing there chest after routine plays , talking smack after week 3 games , making stupid guarantees etc i have issues with because you're clearly desperate for attention.

When you're the best....and you say you're the best who gives a crap. That shit is entertaining.
You just made the biggest play of your career ,in a win or go home game ,1 on 1 against another man who apparently didn't acknowledge your position ,and has probably exchanged many words with you. Go ahead and rub it in. It's as American as Apple pie.

We don't need a bunch of fake ass mediocre guys putting on rap battles after every play and game. But we also don't need a league of guys full of shit and afraid to say anything outside of the cliche snooze crap. Is there anything more pointless and stupid then these post game and locker room interviews ?

If there's a right place and right time for that...Sherman found it.
 
Sherman has always backed up his talk, if he didn't then maybe I would have a problem with him opening his mouth like he does. Crabtree and Sherman were probably jawing at each other all game, so I don't care what Sherm said about him. It was the deciding game to get to the Super Bowl between the biggest rivalry in sports right now. Sherman is the best at what he does, and part of his game is getting under the opposing players skin, keep letting him talk.

I'd take it a little more seriously if he took the time to sound like an educated person.

I think it's funny how people were killing Winston for sounding like a dummy after the NC, but this guy can come out on national TV and scream insults and gibberish and we're supposed to respect him because of the stature of the school he chose to let him play football for free.

Plenty of assholes come out of the IVYs and Stanford, and plenty of good, smart people come out of state schools in the south.

It's just his persona. The way the rules are in the game now you literally have to be perfect to be the best CB in the league. Sherman uses this act to get into guys heads and it works. No one had a problem with him saying he's the best corner in the league, because he is.

he's 6'4" and teams pass all day now so he knocks down a few balls...big deal !

and this last game was against a QB who is still young and Green. I doubt he has the same impact that Deion did who basically got Super Bowl rings with 2 different teams when he sold his talents to each
