Grown ups know how to control them, and know how to behave in situations that dictate a modicum of decorum.

I can't believe people are letting him hide behind "emotions" anyway, when it's clear what he did was a manufactured stunt for attention. If not(which I don't buy for one second but i'll play along), he needs to avoid post game interviews when he's heated & can not behave like an adult. Let a grown up talk to Erin Andrews, or wait until your adrenaline wears off.

Totally agree! Everything he does is calculated. He's the man. He's a personality in a profession of personalities.

Just play football. Guys like Sherman bring a very unappealing element to the game. See I'm on the opposite end and it may have to do with the way I play. I played a lot of basketball in high school and college. I played at my best when I was talking trash. I would like a specific injury in an NFC West game that you know was a result of trash talk.

Also, just because you don't like that people play that way (see Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Ali, etc) doesn't mean it's wrong. It's just different than you. People can be different

People can be whatever they want, and I can call them out for being classless, abrasive, or flat out assholes. Which Sherman is.

Michael Jordan & Larry Bird never behaved the way Sherman does outside the lines. Ever. And Ali was doing a gimmick he admits that he copied from pro wrestling (Freddie Blassie, Gorgeous George, and others). Which was also tongue in cheek and done mostly in jest. Most of the time with the target clued in on what he was doing, as he wanted them to take part to sell the fight. Completely different element.

Comparing Sherman, who is just a mean spirited attention starved asshole, to people like Jordan, Bird, and Ali is laughable. And insulting to those guy, to be honest.

This site skews young, so the bold is lost on a lot of people here. The Seattle fans have to be taken with a grain of salt, they aren't going to be fair.

He behaved like a stereotype and embarrassed himself. Sports is not about how Sherman behaves. It just isn't. If more athletes behaved that way, sports would not be very pleasant to watch.

It's like I said, it was a modern day minstrel show. Dude embarrassed himself.

he should have been done last night and talked about playing Denver but kept Talking about average Crabtree this and that all night.

meanwhile Denver has been planning for this moment the last 2 years.

Seattle has come too hard too fast and doesn't have an offense and has no clue whats about to take place in two weeks. A third year cornerback is about to have his mouthpiece shoved up his nose because he wont be ready for the bright lights when his head is spinning when he hits that field.

Honestly, it's just a lot of good hype before the Super Bowl. Sherman instantly made this Super Bowl matchup memorable. Can old-school Manning shut Richard Sherman up or will Sherman and his manager Bobby Heenan (Pete Carroll) smash a chair over Manning's head and steal the title?

Sherman is a smart guy ... most of his schtick is designed to get under opponents' skin ... and works. No matter who he lines up against in the Super Bowl, they're gonna get yapped at all game and likely affected by Sherman.

Frankly, I am a Barry Sanders' guy in the end zone, just give the ref the ball ... but I can't deny Sherman, Deion and their ilk are entertaining in a WWE sort of way.

At the end of the day, I'd rather watch an entertaining game ... and everyone is still talking about that SF-Seattle game - a game played by two great teams that came down to the end.

The drunk fans who threw food at NaVarro Bowman suck. I love the Niners' linebackers ... best LBs in football. And Justin Smith, a warrior.

Sherman has a long track record of boorish behavior. I addressed letting him off the hook for being "emotional" in my previous post. Grown ups understand time & place. He was out of line and looked like a complete idiot.

You're the one who said he is reaping what he sows. Racist comments have been a large part of the reaction. I think it's a factor in the general publics response.

Right because the time and place to be emotional and excited is definitely not a place where overpaid men play a game in color coordinated outfits.
