Sherman's Twitter followers have doubled over night and he's getting more endorsement interest as a result of his actions. He's going to make a good amount of money from the brand that he's building for himself. The only idiots I've seen out of this are the ones calling Sherman a thug. Sherman is a smart guy and clearly knows what he's doing by not holding back.

I don't think his actions were necessarily right or should be applauded. However, in an era where 95 percent of interviews with athletes are the same old politically correct BS, I found his passionate and boarderline crazy response refreshing.

You are commenting in this thread, are passionate about the topic ... you are more interested in this game and the topic because of what he did. In a sense, I agree with you, his antics shouldn't make a football game more interesting, but they do (whether you agree or not). Old-school traditionalists would love Manning to shut Sherman up with a winning TD pass vs. Sherman. Sherman fans want the opposite. Whether you like Sherman or not, it's good theater.

And yeah. I love that they exist in the league. Love it. They add a different dynamic. Now I love the opposite too. My favorite athlete of all time is Griffey Jr. and he is the opposite of Sherman. But you need them all to make the stories interesting. I would never enjoy a league of all Griffey's or Russell Wilsons. Just like I wouldn't enjoy a league of all Sherman's. Diversity is awesome. It's what makes real life sports way more awesome than Strat-o-matic baseball (well that and the fact that one is real and one is a board game but you get my point)

Honestly, I'm not a fan of the trash talking either. I just want two great teams just to play ... but no one can deny the Seattle-SF rivalry is compelling. Frankly, I find all the yapping just stupid, but I also find selfies, people attached to their phones and what-not kinda stupid too ... I suspect we're victims of our age, Warner.

Maybe it's just the Eagles' fan in me, but I prefer Sherman to TO. Sherman is bashing opponents, not teammates. That said, TO is a first-ballot Hall of Famer IMO.
