no offense man, but you are really not informed. but thats ok....those different requirements are universal to every game. for example

Battlefield 4 system requirements
The minimum PC system requirements for Battlefield 4 are expected to be:
Dual core CPU (Intel Core i5 or AMD “Bulldozer”).
At least 4 GB main system memory
Graphics card with at least 512 MB of VRAM and support for DirectX 10
30+ GB of harddrive space
Windows Vista

Recommended system requirements
The recommended PC system requirements for optimal visual quality and frame rates:
Quad core CPU (Intel Core i5 or i7) at 3 Ghz
4 GB memory (8 GB for 64-bit operating systems)
A modern DX11 graphics card with 2+ GB of video memory, GeForce 600 series or Radeon 7000 series
Windows 7 64-bit operating system (Windows 8 is supported as well)
30+ GB of free harddrive space

CPU, RAM, GPU, OS, HDD space are the standard requirements. those minimum requirements are found in PC's 4 or 5 years old. and the recommended they list are less than what is on my 2 year old PC.

its not like its hard to understand any of this, but if it is you can always goto can i run it and it will tell you if where your PC stands as far as running a PC game
 
Its a matter of preference and what you want to accomplish.

I play some pretty bad ass looking games on my newly built PC but I mainly built it for all of my flight simming needs.

I can really see both sides of it , honestly though.

Since I got my PC, I rarely turn on my Xbone. I do sometimes just because I feel guilty. I do play my PS3 though. I'm a graphics whore and although the consoles do look pretty darn good, the PC games are amazing graphically. I don't mind playing with a Kb/m, I think the mouse is much more accurate for aiming, and quicker.

As for games crashing, that doesn't happen much nowadays. I know it used to be a problem in the 'old days' but I can't say it has happened to me in the 2 months I've had my PC and my flight sims are pushing the "F" out of my CPU and GPU, much more than a regular PC game does.

Last night I was playing Far Cry 3 (on PC), yes a game that is at least 2 years old and I was walking around just amazed how realistic it looks. Yes, I know I used to say that with NHL '94 but I mean it this time!


The only configuring I do is when I go into the graphics setting and turn everything up to max.


I don't think neither is better though. It just depends on what you want to do and I personally can't live without either one.

I do want a gaming PC, and hopefully I'll be taking that plunge this year. However, the console exclusives are always what get me to take a console first. I've always loved most of the Sony exclusives, and those will come first and foremost. If I didn't have a PS4 and couldn't play inFamous in March, I'd be quite sad. I'll admit, the XB1 was a waste on my part, b/c I only have one game for it and I don't see myself getting another for it for awhile either, but, that's my love for Forza and racing with the guys here (PC racing sims are money pit, so no thanks there). But, I do really want a gaming PC for some exclusives, to play some good RPGs with mods and use it to stream some of my older consoles. Maybe this summer, we'll see.

are you saying that info is to hard for you to understand? cmon man. the last time i looked at system requirements was before i built my system. have not looked at one since.

i made this thread knowing what the replies would be and knew the ignorance was going to be there. people used to use flip phones...you switched to a smart phone because they are better. instead of looking at a pc and seeing all these ridiculousness negatives, why not try to look at it from the positive side. better graphics, better framerates, faster load times, free online service, robust friends list and community, huge mod community.

yes, you cant play forza, but you can pay your $60 and play online for free. you can complete a game and get all your achievements and then install mods to make the game few brand new again. you pay
$20 on a console game to make a game feel new again. mods are free

no way am i suggesting people dump there consoles. i have a ps3 for games like GTA5 and streaming from the PC and any of those little things i need (netflix or whatever). consoles have their benefits for sure. But people spend all this money to own wii, handhelds, sony, MS devices, but they leave out the PC.

if you are a true gamer, then the PC should be right on top of your list of must have systems.
 
If your main gripe with PC gaming is the entry price to get the hardware, keep in mind that you can easily offset that cost with the ridiculous game sales that you'll see. Console game deals have a long way to go before they're on par with what the various PC game retailers offer.
 
I have PC , PS4, and Xbox One and I use my PC more and more each day for games. What I love about PC is you have the option to upgrade and have the best of everything but it's certainly not required.

I'm still using a video card that's over a year old and running games like bf4 which are far superior to their console counterparts.

I also love the money I save on steam with their flash sales they run. Out of about 30 games I maybe have spent $100 total
 
You know what? I think I'm going to add this topic into the VSN Arcade Radio episode tonight. It's something I've been looking into pretty heavily recently, Bomber's a new PC gaming guy and KNUBB has his gaming rig, plus with this topic coming up in a thread today and getting a good amount of feedback, I think it'd be a fun thing to talk about on this week's episode.

I think people are just overly comfortable with their consoles to be honest. I think PC Gaming is far more enjoyable and rewarding.
