Was more referring to the absurd $1000 graphics card stuff. Without a doubt in 4-5 year span a PC as a whole, no upgrades, will not be up to snuff.
I have both personally. I have a PC that I love for FPS, RTS, etc... and a PS4 that I love, or plan to, for sports and exclusives. Both have their purpose.
Obviously a gaming PC has its up front costs which sucks but as someone pointed out the amount saved in game deals offsets that real quick. Hell I probably offset that in one round of steam holiday sales. PS4 I love for when I just want to sit back on the couch or lay in bed and relax and play a game. And once thing get going game wise, for the PS4 it will certainly continue to garner attention.
