[360] XBL Dashboard Update

Yeah, I was just saying, if it was your ONLY reason for having Gold it would be a pretty stupid thing.

I do occasionally hook the PC up to the TV, but having it on 360 will make it easier (and will look better -- my PC hooked up to my TV always looks a little weird to me).

Yeah but considering Gold is $3.33 a month....its not so bad. BB is selling 12 months for 39.99

Why would you want to watch HBO on your TV through the Xbox when you have it on your TV already through your cable or satellite provider?

Because HBOGo is better than just HBO. You can watch pretty much every episode of every one of their shows on HBOGo, while with just the channel you're constricted by HBO's timetable for showing them, and OnDemand you're constricted by when Comcast/Verizon/etc...want to make the show available.

Hey I'm not complaining, I'm just saying personally I wouldn't get Gold JUST for something like HBOGo which I can get for free on my computer.

Now I'm understanding. I was confused like Garrett. But this makes sense now.

So then really, the only tv app that is worth a damn on Live is HBOGo? And maybe ESPN3? But I actually have HBOGo and dpn't have ESPN3 because my ISP isn't one of the select providers.
 
Ok, is anyone else experiencing lag on Live? I don't mean during multiplayer sessions, I mean using the actual interface? The dash seems ok but damn if I don't notice a lot of lag when using any guide button functions: scrolling through my friend's list, trying to send a message, etc. I'm guessing it has to do with the influx of xmas noobs.
 
And the shitty dash strikes again. Good luck trying to find Choplifter HD anywhere unless you manually search for it. It's been trumpted all over Twitter, FB, Major Nelson's blog etc but noithing on the dash.

So dumb.

I swear I must not. I'll take pictures of it when I get home if it hasn't changed.

Even the Games pages, where it as that big square in the middle with featured games. I tabbed through all of them, four I think. It was Amy, somethimg about NCAA add ons, Kinect Sports and something else.

I'd probably pay $10 for it. Sometimes I'm just baffled by these companies. It's one thing if Shadow Complex is priced at $15. But a HD remake of Choplifter?!?

Just to add some more fuel to the fire, the past two podcasts I've listened to have complained about finding shit on this new dash. ON GHR they were talking about the increased size limit for indie games but added "Good luck finding them though." Granted, they are indie games. On the CAGcast CheapyD complained for quite a bit about how he can't seem to find anything on the new dash. I don't think anyone can dispute that Cheapy is a pretty knowledgable gaming guy.
