I never get these season passes because I never care enough to have every piece of DLC...and then when they go on sale I've already bought what I had so it's even more useless. It's a bit of a weird setup, I guess mainly banking on the impatience of the fans that want everything.

Most of the season passes have been worth it. LA Noire, Mortal Kombat (although I didn't get that one), Uncharted 3, etc. But the MS ones are bullshit only because of these sales. We had a big discussion about this last night while playing Gears. Med, Swarley and Med's buddy. Without the sales the Gears and Forza content would've been worth it because you save a good chunk of change. And if you are a big fan of the series you're going to get all the shit anyway. But when they discount it mere months after release they are totally fucking themselves because they are kicking their fans in the nuts. Why would I ever buy a MS game season pass again when it might go on sale in a few months and I still get all of the content? And it doesn't help that their season passes have been some of the most expensive ones of the bunch.

I would think that most people that would have wanted it would already have it. So they're effectively rewarding the less loyal/new customers while kind of flipping off the loyal ones that.

It'd be nice if they tossed the people that already bought it a bone like Nintendo did with the 3DS, but we all know that they won't.

That is exactly my point. If anything the negatives of pissing off all the loyal fans and early adopters has to far outweigh any kids that got the games for xmas.

And c'mon, if someone just got a 360 for xmas they probably don't have the slightest idea what Live and the marketplace is all about.

Discounts and sales are great, don't get me wrong. But this is way too early for a sale like this. Had this same sale went into effect at the end of 2012 when all the DLC had been released and a Gears triple pack was out, that would make sense. But this is a big middle finger to the real fans.
