Otherwise, I think Steam might be able to hook you up with all your needs.Comment

Ended up going with what I was kicking around inititally, this ASUS Republic of Gaming one:
It's a beast, and way wider than my VAIO was, but weirdly not much heavier. One thing I'll say: it's going to take quite an adjustment on my part to get used to having a laptop keyboard with a number pad.
EDIT - also, similarly to when I got my Vaio and it had Vista -- am I the only one that doesn't hate Windows 8? To be fair I haven't kept up with it much so maybe it's a lot better now, but I remember its release being met with a tepid reaction at best. I think it's fine and in some ways kind of cool.Comment

We could also just bite the bullet and become Steam friends
But either way, if I get the chance to post more regularly, I will definitely drop some info. Right now the thing is probably still downloading a bunch of the shit from Steam that I had bought in sales that didn't really ever work that well on my old PC.
I think I'm going to buy Shadowrun and maybe even Mercenary Kings tonight as well. Both QL's intrigued me immensely (and I loved the SNES Shadowrun game). Obviously not graphical powerhouses, but hey, they were newer games that I wanted to play that became pretty hard to do so with a montior that only stays lit for 10 minutes at a time.Comment
