The computer runs fine, as long as I don't go in to 3D applications. I can then play for about 5-30 minutes, before the whole thing hardlocks. That suggests that everything is fine, until the GPU tries to draw full load from the PSU and it can't handle it

That would make sense. How big of a power supply did you go with? How powerful of a graphics card do you have?

Been playing a lot as I try to become an Arsenal fan and learn the team. So I was searching the internet to learn some tips and things when I found this.

          600W and a 6950 2GB. I thought I had gone 650, but was mistaken. This weekend I plan on upping it to a 700+

Same video card I have. I ended up going with a 1000w PSU, which is overkill. But it came as part of a package with my case (which is friggin huge) so it was a good deal.

Good video card. Zero issues so far.

I was going to fire up a new game last night, after I downloaded the latest pic pack updates, but got distracted by other game.

Is this like OOTP? I know this game has more of a graphical interface in terms of the game playing out .

I know VERY little about football/soccer. Is it fairly easy to learn and understand?

I'd like a new game to play... I'm an OOTP baseball nut, so I figured this would be a good game to get.

I've never actually played OOTP but I believe it is similar. It can be a bit overwhelming at first which is why you'd want to play as a team like Real Madrid or Barcelona until you get the hang of it. It does have an in-game advisor to help you and there is a massive online community filled with information to help you out.

Agreed with GoBlue. If you are willing to put in the time, there is a dedicated community (and this board), that will help you through the learning curve.

Don't expect to take a team to 5 straight Champions League titles, even with Man City and their huge budget. But that's part of the fun. I'm sitting 8th in the 3rd division of English football and loving life

High expectations on my performance isn't an issue because I don't know how to play soccer. I mean, the clock goes backward.. or I suppose in this case, forward and I have no idea why LOL

I imagine its ever so slightly similar to hockey .........kinda.

I have watched the game before, maybe 3 times in my life, so I really don't understand it.

But, I learned hockey by playing NHL '94 on Genesis.

btw, I'm downloading the Mac Demo (Strawberry version, guess its more in depth)

I like OOTB (played the last three versions but have not yet got the newest) and its a really solid game. But I find FM to be most polished and deeper. Way more variety to the different kinds and levels of games you can have. OOTB has great flexibility in terms of creating custom leagues and such, which FM really isn't intended for, but there are so many different options for leagues and levels.

It's a sign of my maturity level when I lol'd hard, and then proceeded to try and land a kid from Brazil named "Titi" simply for his name.

David Bentley had the game of his life in the Europa League Finals as we bested Atletico Madrid 3-1 in ET.

We've achieved a double thus far, as we won the Carling Cup as well. We had to go through Standard, Palermo, Lazio, and OL en route to the Europa League victory.

We have 1 game remaining in the Premiership, and a 1 point lead over 2nd place Manchester City. We face Manchester United at White Hart Lane, while Man City gets Arsenal at home. Not the easiest of opponents for us to earn a victory to ensure the treble.

                          Beautiful free kick equalizer.

                          Amazing early cross to Bale.

Did the treble. We lost to Man U to close the season, but Man City was unable to defeat Arsenal either, so we finished on top.

                            Summary:

And then Bale dicked me by joining Man U after they made an offer of £33.5m, which met his minimum fee release clause (despite the fact that I offered him a new contract which he turned down upon hearing of the interest from Man U).

                              Shit.

Well, at least I have the funds available to find a replacement then.
