1. Dual Cast Your Healing Spell
2. Find mudcrab(s)
3. Let the little bastards attack you constantly, they do little damage but enough to take small chunks of HP down.
4. Continue to Cast Healing
Note this also bumps up your Light or Heavy Armor attribute since you're taking in consistent attacks.I give rep not thanks

Anyone have any tips on killing dragons? I was just walking on my merry way to finish my Companions initiation, when all of a sudden...BEHIND ME...I hear BOOM...ROAR.
I turn around and a fucking dragon is nuking me with fire before I can even whip my sword out. I'm a one handed battle mage, specializing in Destruction.
Anyone?
I have noticed that you get significant bonus' for using fire on ice-breathing dragons and ice on fire breathers (obviously). But yeah, if you can get through that first Companions quest and score that Axe, I think you should be a lot better off.Comment

My god, this game really brings you into this world. Running around and doing things for the Imperial Legion makes me feel as if i'm really part of an army, and contributing to a much bigger conflict. Everytime i see a Stormcloak i want to plunge my double blades through their chest before they take another step.

I lost my companion last night while I was searching for a word of power. We get there and I'm not expecting to open a door to see 4-5 witches having a feast. We dispose of them and go further into the cave. Finally in the last room my companion gets stuck in the room with them (I ran back out and shut the door.) I charge up a fireball and open the door to fire it off at the last baddie, only problem is when I opened the door my companion was crawling across the room. I hit her and send her flying clear to the end of the room.
Plus side is I think the baddie saw this all go down and just straight up bailed. Didn't even have to fight them, couldn't find them if I wanted to. And I did find the word of power/learned the shout:

Anyone?
1st Dragon: This was easy, bow and arrows and a lot of NPC's helping me shoot at it around a tower.
2nd Dragon: All alone with my companion in the mountains. The dragon kept swooping down and hitting my housecarl. I ran back, and healed her up, and ended up jumping into a cave...never killed that one actually.
3rd Dragon: I put on my big boy pants and said fuck it, I'm not running. Used up a lot of healing potions though. I just shot at the damn Dragon using my Dwarven Bow(23 dmg+10 Shock+50%magicka dmg) and Dwarven Arrows(14 dmg). Ended up taking that bitch out with a little help from my housecarl who is also using a Dwarven Bow+Dwarven Arrows (I've spent a lot of money upgrading my companions armor+weapons. She's bad ass BTW).
4th Dragon: I'm a Theif-Mage-Archer, in that order. So I set my companion up with a Dwarven Bow+Dwarven Arrows, I cast an Atronach (flaming stripper that throws fire balls) I spam my staff (WABBAJACK IS AWESOME) until my magicka restores and then I toss some fire firebolts at it until it dies.
5th Dragon: Same strategy as above. Only now I'm using a combination of staves/dwarven bow to take them down. Mostly I reach for my bow because I don't have to recharge it with soul shards, and I have a pretty high archery rating now.
PS: Run around and hide a little, you don't ever want to stand out in the open. Right now I'm trying to discover a pattern of what type of dragons like to fly around more, what types like to land on all fours, what types like to hover around. Oh also, if you're on a building or any structure the dragon won't land as much and will hover in front of you and you can shoot it and jump down off/behind the structure...unless you're on a tower, just run down the stairs.
Dragons IMO don't seem that hard to take down at this point. But they can catch you off guard and alone which sucks.sigpicComment
