This shit is making my decision to stay in this generation better and better.

As long as I get Dragon Age 3, Fallout 4 and KOTOR 3....I'll be happy.

Why is Microsoft doubling down on this TV stuff? Because they see the writing on the wall with the future of gaming...meaning, we're heading for another crash like after the Atari 2600. The user base is so huge with the 360 that they know they can't abandon it like they did with the original Xbox. People my age, and even a little younger look at the 360 and say, "Why the hell do I need anything new?"
Its more like "Why would I want anything new". We're headed towards a crash because the industry made a fatal mistake going into this gen by giving these consoles a 7-10 year life span. Neither company had any Fn clue what would happen within 3 years and how the landscape of CE would change. They fucked up.
MS is fucking retarded. I cant emphasize that enough. That companies collective IQ drop last few years is staggering. Google and Apple are busy saying "lulz @ TV this is how things will be" MS is saying "omgz look you can switch channels easily" ...nigga fuck you. If you have TV you already have a fuckin DVR and a Bill. Dont need to add some internet dependent bullshit layer to that.

I wouldn't even consider buying a new system until this one is nearly obsolete....unless it gives me a reason to buy it. Games will still be produced for years. It still plays movies and streams my music. Disconnecting from my cable provider is a pretty good reason, though.
Its been obsolete for years. On top of that the graphics jump from current gen to next gen is by far the lowest Ive ever witnessed. Not one single mention of 4K by either Sony or MS. None of the visuals in either presentation had Next Gen feel to it. I dont know whats going on but the technological power and means are there. My guess is plainly put the industry is becoming devoid of talent. It seems all the imaginative and creative folks are in mobile, not gaming. Why should they be ? Who the fuck wants to work EA wasting your talent pumping out garbage when you can develop and publish your own game to millions of people on mobile platforms within months ?

Parents in 2013, especially those who weathered the recession and are much more financially responsible now, will be very wary of buying any new $600 system. How much will the games cost? $80? Too much. Why not stick with what they have?
Disagree. iPad/Galaxy/iPhone sales say otherwise. Money is being spent happily but just not where it used to be. Give people something exciting and they will buy it. The economy is atrocious yet pricey as fuck mobile electronics are booming. You give people a compelling reason they will spend.((barring another economic catastrophe))
PS4/XBO/WiiU feel like "add ons" not Next Gen. The old TV/CE industry that Sony is a big part of fucked themselves with the BR/HDDVD/3D wars. Consumers said FU years ago and are now happy watching movies on friggin laptops and phones (). This is NOT the way to get them back.
This new generation of consoles is doomed. There is no need for it now, no matter how cool it is.
I have Halo 4 unfinished..GOW Judgement Un played...Im bored out of my skull with games. They look old and feel old. MS made sure that feeling is carrying over to next gen.

I was talking about the game side of things not the movie viewing part.
Everyone files ridiculous patents...but that one is just fuck you in the mouth intrusive. So now I have to make sure kinect can see everyone ? I cant cover it up ? What if someone walks in after the movie starts or someone wants to sit next to me and read a book ?

Tell me again why my 99$ ATV or WiFi connected Tablet and Phone arent better options.

Xbox One will support 4K gaming. PS4 will support 4K video output, but not gaming.

4k gaming is silly. Most games aren't even 1080p native

They are probably thinking ahead for the future since these consoles will last the next 10+ years.

PC gaming will and should never die. There is no waiting. Users can upgrade at will within whatever budget they have. Soon as new HW drops SW is usually maxing out very quickly. The problem with PC gaming was and is Piracy and atrocious user interface options (small screens , keyboards , installations etc) but consoles are becoming as cumbersome and PCs are getting closer to LR TVs.

Didnt hear the XBO compatibilty mentioned thanks. So PS4 with the company likely selling those TVs wont...but the one with weakest hardware will.

Mostly due to file sizes and weak hardware. 4K gaming being called silly is silly.

I think this is my problem..I dont want to see a fucking number or ":" at the end of a blockbuster game for awhile. I want to see Children of the Camp , Indigo Swamp, Teeter Totter breakthrough !!
Something NEW , new characters new heros , no villians new worlds etc.

Just look at the comments. Not a single positive one. Self proclaimed Xbox fanboys are saying since this console has been announced it's been nothing but bad news. The same thing that I, and many others have been saying.

                      But yeah, I'm the fanboy.

I also read that if you buy the Xbox: One at BestBuy that Microsoft is mandating that they kick each guy straight in the nutz on the way out of the store...I lost the link. I think it was kotaku or Sidemission. I might pre order 2.

Bruh the last consoles were not even weak. I mean look at what came out of them, yet there are so few games running 1080p natively. As for Brotatoes claiming they are preparing for the future we are what 8 years into this generation and games are still running 720p and being upscaled. Microsoft had little to no issue going with multiple discs. Investing in 4k gaming is indeed silly. Its like putting true HD capabilities into the PS2/Xbox. 4k TVs don't have the market share to truly be a necessity. KOF do you own a 4k TV?

You heard me homey. Shitty ass peripherals. KB and Mouse regardless of "accuracy" are the worst ways known to man to play games. Awful controllers with low tech and limited options etc etc. Only flight simulators had anything resembling a useful and cool peripheral. If people were forced to play Madden with a KB and "gaming" mouse the industry would have died ages ago.
I included installations because game installs were a fucking pain in the ass and required KB/M as step one to playing a game you just bought.

But yeah this isnt 2004 anymore so no need to go further.
