Disagree. Ive seen more confusion over this than any pending product launch in recent memory. MS has seemingly avoided questions , offered up stupid things noone cares about , and seemingly hidden potentially good features that remain "rumors" because MS cant get its PR straight.

Sorry but this is all MS. Same exact shit happened with there tablet launch , hell they had employees blatantly lie about what it could and couldnt do. Ballmer MS is a joke.
Best reason to have a license.

Pretty much agree with this. I've seen some hack job PR stunts in my time but MS did a really poor job at releasing very relevant info that could of helped their cause. The main stage at E3 would of been a perfect time to address certain issues but instead they went an all game approach and ignored some of the more obvious questions people had and this isn't new to me at all. Over the years I've had to deal with MS trying to promote everything from their new OS's to server products and almost every webinar, live unveil ect ect. has almost always failed to answer little questions that people want to know. I remember the Vista unveil where they showed us over and over again about how nice and clean the new UI looked but failed to mention the memory and CPU requirements and people were shocked when it ran like shit on their systems. I still remember 2 weeks before shipping vista MS saying that their new MS driver support system didn't actually include a lot of drivers for devices and instead went for the universal approach which of course caused problems like peoples 3 or 4 year old printers to not be supported since software companies didn't have anything ready for them yet.

The issue here is not laziness or stupidity its MS failing to bring important issues to the main front. People will basically not go out and hunt down info and generally go with what they hear from others and what is being discussed.

      Leafs offseason training!

I think everything around the Xbone might go down as one of the biggest PR failures of all time. After reading what a lot of you guys have been saying about how these questionable features actually benefit the gamer, I can definitely see the advantages. But why does it take reading this shit on some shitty message board? Why isn't Don Mattrick talking about the family sharing feature instead of telling gamers to fuck off and buy a 360?

Sure, they've been releasing these PR packets describing their thinking behind the internet connectivity, and their reasoning makes a lot of sense, but the press releases are not enough clearly. That information isn't making it to the masses.

This whole fiasco started with their terrible unveiling of the console.

the press releases were sent to real news outlets, so unless you were looking for them or you were lucky enough to have another forum/gaming outlet pick them up, you wouldn't know... MS has done a pretty bad job of relaying the info to all consumers, but its not their fault some of you take things at face value and get your news from people who are using hearsay and rumors to fear monger...

Well the question at the bottom, why isn't MS yelling about it? Seriously, why? If this is so awesome, why isn't it being boasted about? There has to be a reason considering it was said on GameTrailers that the PS4 is outselling the Xbone 8:1 right now. If that's anywhere near accurate, WHY aren't they talking about this to sell more boxes? Is this not fishy to anyone?

I'm finding it hard to believe that they are going to shred into game sales like this. How do dev's/pub's approve of lost game sales? Casual gamers who are friends with dorks like Twigg that buy everything, never will have to buy a game as long as they stay friends. Twigg is only playing one game at once, so Casual dudebro has everything else at his disposal for free?

I just don't understand how this makes any positive sense to dev studio. This is no worse than used games to them, I don't see how it isn't.

Used Games: Someone buys a game new, returns to Gamestop. They resell that copy 10 times. Dev sees just one sale.
XberxJuan: Someone buys a game and stores it in their cloud. All their family friends can access that game when it's available at any point it's not in use. Dev sees just one sale. 2 people can even co-op together. You get two buddies who co-op everything and now just need to spend half the money to play everything they want.

Yes that sounds beyond great for a consumer, truly it does, but dev's say "used games are dying, you can't have AAA games with used game markets around!" . But apparently you can have AAA games where you sell can sell 1 copy for every 2 people without any loss of functionality including online?

If we get into game sharing (and it works like it says), it's $100s more.
They never announced that games couldn't be played off discs either, so there's no guarantee you'll need to add more HDD space. Not that you like to tell everyone how often they all uninformed or anything

All gaming news is like this and any sale of an item is like this. Its how the iphone became so popular and its how the galaxy s3 blew up. Word of mouth and trendy commercials. 95% of the population doesn't read into things especially when it comes to electronics.

Sam Lake of Remedy (Alan Wake, Max Payne 1 & 2, currently working on Quantum Break), did this awesome 9 minute or so video a couple of weeks back basically sitting down and telling people why they aren't doing Alan Wake 2. He was extremely honest for the sake of clarity, but the best part was just that he wanted to take the time to really explain why it worked out this way.

I don't expect MS to ever be as 100% upfront like Lake was, but he was praised the internet over for simply just sitting down and clearing up any potential confusion for fans/consumers. It baffles me to the point of frustration that MS doesn't have someone do something like this. It would take no time at all, you stick a major face or name (not relegating the information to an engineer on a website and forcing consumers to scrounge about like Joel from the Last of Us for information), you break down essentially what that graphic that Primetime posted says, and you save a tiny bit of face.

Instead MS is behaving like Two-Bad from He-Man, only instead of two heads constantly fighting/contradicting, there's like 20.

I just dont think all the details are hammered down yet with the game sharing process. That's my opinion on the subject otherwise it makes no sense. If they say something at E3 and then change it a month later the internet will explode again.

Well then they probably should have just said nothing, if that's the case. Instead they're saying 17 different things, some contradicting other things said, some contradicting reasons for other announcements. If they release some of the sharing info, but not all of it because they don't have it figured out yet, that makes this already shit PR job even shittier.

Wouldn't that then be implying that part of MS' plan was to just be as confusing as possible so that everyone talks about how confused they are/how much they think the system sucks?

And come on man, we were talking about these consoles before they launched. It's not like the new Xbox ever had a chance of not being talked about.

Maybe...looks like to me we will have to wait till the console to launch. If that is the case it will probably be a rocky launch. Even thought I think every PS4 and XBONE will sell out at launch.
