In what is quickly becoming a fierce rivalry, the Tribe made a Sunday night visit to Tropicana Field to take on the Rays. Cleveland's ace, Cliff Lee, took the mound against rookie phenom David Price.
It was clear from the first inning that this would be a pitcher's duel, as Price struck out the first 3 batters of the game. Lee was just as good for Cleveland, not giving up a hit until Jason Bartlett legged out a perfect drag bunt down the third base line. But nothing would come of it, as the scoreless pitcher's duel continued until the bottom of the 4th when Evan Longoria hit a home run that barely cleared the left field wall to give the Rays a 1-0 lead.
Tampa Bay added a big insurance run in the 7th inning, as Gabe Kapler singled home a run by driving a ball down the third base line. Price took the mound in the top of the ninth with a 2-0 lead and was trying for his first career complete game and shutout. But it was not to be, as he gave up a leadoff single. Manager Joe Maddon was taking no chances, and quickly called for 59 year-old closer Troy Percival. Percival retired the next three Indians to record a save. Price was immediately sent to AAA after this outstanding performance.
Final Score:
Maynard (Cleveland) 0
Buccaneerfan (Tampa Bay) 2

EDIT: Maynard beat me to posting the score, this is the same game.
When you can get a lag-free game against a quality opponent like Maynard, this game really is the true pinnacle of sports video gaming. I love these tense, realistic games!
