It's INFINITELY better with a co-op buddy since you both get to go batshit and have fun together.
SR3 has goofy stuff in it but it's not as crazy as SR2 was (mostly due to the lack of options for costumes and stripped-out sidemissions like the Sewage Truck driving).
If you go solo in SR3, it's still fun but there's no emphasis to keep playing once you 100% the entire game.Comment

Sooooooooooo good. I loved it so much I have it for both consoles. I got the PS3 compete edition a few months ago for only $25. I'm working through it in co-op with Dizzle. And FYI, since I know you only have a PS3, that version runs a ton better. The 360 version had serious framerate issues and would chug to a crawl at some points. No issues like that on PS3 that I've seen.
You should still be able to find the complete Edition for $30 or less now and I would highly recommend it if you're a fan of open world GTA style games.

sr3 is awesome. 1 and 2 were great for their time. obviously dated now. they took all the great things from every other sandbox game and put it into their game. SR3 was over the top silly and may have looked stupid, but it was a fantastic game. once you play it you see just how action packed and fun the game is. sure its got stupid silly shit, but its awesome. its so much fun
i played SR3 off a cracked copy for free....months later i bought the game for PCComment

Saints Row 4 survey asks what you’d like included in the Collector’s Edition
Deep Silver wants your input on the contents of a Saints Row 4 Collector’s Edition. You can fill out the option bubbles through here. The ranks span from “HELL NO!” to “AWWWW YEAH” in choice, and various items such as T-shirts, hats, pins, an RC copter, a voice augmentation device / auto-tune device, and Dubstep Doomsday Button are just some of the options to pick. There was no mention of a purple dildo with a handle, but a “Functional (not deadly!) in-game weapon replica” was one of the choices. Saints Row 4 releases on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 August 20 in the US and August 23 in the UK.

It does what most video games no longer do...it tries to be a video game, not real life. It's the anti-GTA.
Then it goes over the top in humour, offensive nature and flat out ridiculousness. The trailer sums it up with the oversexed charcaters, dancing robots or hotdog vendors riding on top of cars while shooting rockets from a guitar.
Now they are adding the best facet of Crackdown, which is what basically what made Crackdown a fun game, the super powers...into this?
Can't wait.
Don't take this game seriously, just
the whole time.
