gamespot gave this a 9.0 which is real good for them. They usually score games on the low side

they say the graphics are the weakness of the game, but they look pretty good to me

It compares closes to Saints Row maybe? I think SR was broken up into islands too? It's not as big as GTA4 because you are traversing everything on foot or leaping across buildings.
I did all of the side missions and it took me well over 10 hours to finish just the first island.

I really wouldn't recomment it as a standard rental. I can see Gamefly becauseyou can't keep the game as long as you want with them. The game is long so I can't see anyone beating it in one rental from a store like Blockbuster.

Yeah, the graphics are really good IMO. It reminds me a lot of GTA. Some texture are a little bleh up close but you'll get that with any huge sandbox game like this.

is it a free roam game? cause in the demo, you have to automatically start a mission if you go to far, or even if you die

It has a story line but you can do side missions or just run around causing (as Wu-Tang would say) MotherF'ing Ruckus. Just got to Outlaw in the storyline.

Do the regular "yellow" missions that deal with getting rid of reapers or anything good in nature make you more "good?" I opened one and aborted it because I'm trying to be just "bad." I know you can't do the blue "good" missions if you go to far in the evil for that area but these yellow missions seem to have a good/evil nature as well.

The yellow side missions are general extra missions. There are other yellow side missions that are either outlined in red (evil missions) or green (good missions). If you check your upgrade screen you will notice certain powers can only be upgraded by completing these missions, whereas most upgraded are 'purchased' using XP.

I am pretty much addicted. Those damned shards and Dead drops..... the shards are in pain in the ass places sometimes.

The gameplay is tight and it is very easy jump around. Those reapers on the rooftops are annoying.......bullets everywhere.

So far it is like a uncharted game....i would give UC a 9.5 and this a 8.7

Ok....how does saving work? I had gotten to Outlaw status...saved it ...turned it on...and was back to Thug. It seems it goes so far back but I can't tell how far into the game, it will save. Whenever I try to do a manual save...it saves at the same point as the auto save. Just got the trophy for Electro Hobo...pretty funny.

i like how the side missions actually serve a purpose and are connected...not just mindless crap.

not sure how the save works....it never says it is auto saving

Somehow I managed to get all the dead drops on the first isalnd. I'm noy positive but I think I only missed one shard on the first island. It's on top of this sphere thing and it appeared the only way you could get it is with the lightning glide thing, which you don't unlock until the second island. I'm hoping I can go back at some point. I read over at Gamefaqs that you can free roam after you finish the game.

Like JMS said, as far as I know there is no auto save Ryne. I save manually constantly. I think they left out auto-save because the game relies so heavily on the choices you make. If you accidentally killed a shitload of civilians while taking out some Reapers and you were playing as Good, and then the game auto-saved you'd be fucked.

Are you sure you just didn't assume the game auto-saved Ryne? I've never had any issues with the game reverting back or not loading up properly.

I really like the side missions too. They seem so varied. One of my favorite types is when you have to follow the courier around, stealth style.

The game does autosave (stated in manual pg. 8) and also if you look at your saves on PS3 you will see the information of your save after the word (AUTOSAVE). I read it and it states it saves after missions and other checkpoints....which I knew what these "other checkpoints" where.

Edit: Just finished the mission where you have to follow a reapers truck. It gave me the scare of my life. I thought I would go on top of a building and throw grenades (3 in 1); I was close to the edge but had a little room in front of me. The reaper that disappears/reappears disappeared but I was so into trying to get some head shots, all of a sudden he is in front of me.....scared the shit out of me.

i didnt really care for the demo.....all the things you guys mention are true. the controls are sweet, the graphics look dam good to me. The coolness of the game....all that stuff.

But the mission was meh.....seemed like the game would get old and repetitive.....alot of doing the same thing over and over with the gameplay

but i guess i should just take the demo for all its positives, because it feels like an awesome game. Even the little bit of story i got seemed well told.
