Think "Lord of the Rings" with the ability to get laid in-game and a sidequest that involves possibly murdering a possessed child.

You also kill zombies, slay dragons and become basically the biggest badass in history with a little level grinding.

Yea I'm using them, but by the time I get to the Archdemon I only have my Paladins and Elves at full strength, the Redcliffe army is gone and there's only 1 Dwarf left. I'll give it another go today, try and be a little more strategic.

In my finished game, I had mages at my disposal (as opposed to the Templars you get for wiping out the Mages Tower) but I only really used them when I was fighting the Archdemon.

Also, I was playing on Normal the whole way through and used mass area spells like Sleep and Horror in conjunction with each other; made things simpler in that unless there was an archer or two hiding in the background, all I had to do was use Cone of Cold to stop whoever was uneffected by the Sleep/Horror combo and if that was enough, I just stepped in and started wailing on the rest of the enemies.

I'm assuming you took out the Darkspawn Generals first before you fought the Archdemon because I'm thinking that that could also affect how hard it is to fight the dragon at the end...

I'm not in to RPGs either but this game makes it really easy to get in to the story and enjoy it.

          Give it a try.

Yea I wiped out the generals first, which is why my armies are so depleted. I should be alright with them though, Templars hit from close and from range. I made Wynn a spirit healer, went all attack with Morrigan although she has heal as well, then Alistair and I are both sword and shield fighters. When I try later today just before the Archdemon flies away I'll move everyone back to a ballista and use hold position which should make it easier to contain the freaking horde of darkspawn. How much does the area spell the Archdemon spew out hurt? I always try and back out of it ASAP

EDIT- DAMN, thought I had it. I retreated to a ballista and let the darkspawn come to me which was working but then the Archdemon started spewing his stuff at me so I went to fight him and got swarmed again....agh

EDIT2- goddamnit, I made it past the darkspawn point and got the Archdemon to come back, right away my character dies and I get 2 revives but I must've missed the spot where he fell because neither worked and as soon as Alistair goes down it's all over.....

EDIT3- BEAT IT! It really wasn't too horribly bad once I started fighting smart, once the Archdemon left I just set up shop at the Ballista tower nearest it and used ranged attacks with Wynne/Morrigan while my guy ran around firing the ballistas until they broke and had Allistair hang back and guard them.

Are you being serious here? It's not as if Dragon Age is reading fucking Ulysses. It's about as straight-forward as a game, hell, as anything, could be.

serious as a heart attack, I have not payed any attention at all during this game and really have no idea whats going on, I mean I have an idea but im still really confused as to why any of this shit is going on, and Ive completed all the quests to start the landsmeet but it won't start...and I can't find the arl of redcliff, he isn't in the castle and it says I need to go to him to go to landsmeet in deneriem, hes not there either, I think my game might be fucked...

Well there's part of your problem, if you don't pay attention to the conversations then you really won't know anything, because the convo's give you clues to everything that's happening, that's really the meat and bones of the game. It's changed drastically since I used to play the old Final Fantasy RPG's, it's gone from being story drive to being very character driven and it's taken me awhile to get used to. But I'm DEFINITELY glad I played this game, it's an incredible game so long as you follow with what's going on. The main part of the story is the other Grey Wardens get wiped out and you have to recruit 4 different groups to help you against the Blight, but it gets A LOT more in depth than that once you start playing.

yea ive got all four groups recruited, I guess ima have to play through again and pay attention... specially since its not gonna let me finish the game...

What the fuck? Why play a goddamn RPG if you aren't going to pay any attention? Did you think this was Gears with a LotR twist?:tocktock:

no i just got tired of all the fucking talking all the time, I realized I was going to have to conversate, but I didn't realize that it would 20 of the 28 hours Ive put into this game... It reached its peak when I was running around fuckin dwarf ville with no idea what to do, I would probably be less confused if things were happening how they are supposed to happen but since arl of redcliff has totally disappered from my game I kinda wish I would have payed attention these last few hours...
