Yeah we dominated that game, I was surprised. Hopefully the BC game was just a fluke.

And I really liked the title of that update, hope you guys did too.

            Thursday Night Lights

Syracuse Orange (1-1) at Akron Zips (1-0)

Before tonight, I have never played on a Thursday. Even though the Big East schedules a lot of their conference games on Thursday, we didn't have the luxury of getting our program on prime-time.

We came out swinging with a long drive carried by Doug. Our playcalling confused the Akron defense and coaching staff with an opening drive full of running plays. He punched it in from eight yards out and we went up 7-0 early after the extra point.

Akron answered with a score of their own and then I scored on a slant from six yards out to start the second quarter. Our defense stepped up and forced a fumble on the Zips' next drive, and then I made a catch that would surely be on Sportscenter's top 10 plays tomorrow.

"Nassib is in the shotgun," Chris Fowler announced. "Three receivers to the left of him, Woy by himself on the right. Here's the snap, he drops back and throws a lob to Woy, who is double-teamed...what an incredible leaping catch! Touchdown Orange! Spiderman just took that ball away from the corner and safety and brought it down with both feet in bounds!"

After bailing out Nassib's ass with that second touchdown catch, he settled down and tossed two more touchdowns to senior receiver Lavar Lodbell to give us our second win of the season. And guess who would be waiting for us next weekend at home? South Carolina.

Does Rebecca come back during the South Carolina game? Has she told Garcia about your past relationship and how it ended? Has she told him that she desperately wants Woy back? Find out next time on Catching Controversy. LOL straight outta daytime soaps. Next few updates should be interesting.

My guess, Rebecca poisoned both Garcia and Mel, accidentally spilling some in Sidney Crosby's food, killing him off as well. Both Mel and Garcia end up in the hospital where they both end up kickin it, but not before Rebecca shows up and she and Woy have a cry and then, overcome with grief, Rebeccas seduction of Woy takes hold and they have the sexy time...only it turns out Melyssa wasnt dead, she was testing E and he failed her test. So, she shoots both Woy and Rebecca and runs away with her secret lover CP. Mel, however is so overcome by grief that she offs CP and herself as well as four random characters that get introduced to say one line before they die, or get mentioned offhand by a main character. Meanwhile, Evan's gunshot wound has turned him into an instant gangsta and he walks around strapped all the time. Someone tries to rob the Woy household and Evan, trying to save the day, accidentally kills everyone in the house, including Breann and E's baby as Breann adopted the child after Mel ran away and she was there console the family. Stricken with grief, Evan goes to Hooters to try and cheer up...only to run into Britt who is moping over losing Woy, Evan, pissed off after finding out what she did to his brother, offs Britt and then does himself in. The End

                        The Pain of Losing

With our win Thursday, Coach decided to give us Friday off as a reward. I decide to take that time to call an old friend and see if I could get tickets to his game on Saturday.

"What's good Ethan?" A familiar voice asked on the other line.

"Sup Brad? I'm just relaxing after last night bro," I replied. "How's Buffalo treatin' ya?" My former high school quarterback and best friend Brad Swindell was starting this season as a true sophomore for the Buffalo Bulls. It was his first home game of the season and one of the only chances I would get to see him play. I had to take advantage of this opportunity and support him.

"Congrats on the win last night," he congratulated. "You looked really good out there. As for Buffalo, it's chill, haha. School's not too hard but football isn't fun when you're losing."

"Now you know how I felt last year," I reminded him, rubbing it in a little bit. "Maybe we'll switch roles and I'll go 7-5 this year, while you stumble to 5-7."

"Shut the fuck up," he said with a laugh. "Our team is young as hell. Turner's gonna get us rolling by my senior year though. Can you say BCS buster?"

"Haha, that would be pretty cool if we matched up in a bowl game," I suggested. "But I need a quarterback to even sniff a BCS bowl in my future. Ryan's inconsistent and we don't have much behind him. You want to transfer here, right?"

"I wish," he chuckled. "Marrone will find you a quarterback though."

"Hopefully so," I thought to myself. "Or maybe I should have transferred to South Carolina." Then I stopped for a second and remembered what I was going to ask. "So you play at home Saturday?"

"Yeah, against Central Florida," he answered. "Prime-time game. You want a ticket?"

Damn, he could read my mind. "If you can," I replied. "I don't have anything going tomorrow, and I need to get out of the apartment a little. Mel can take care of Sean Joseph for an entire day, I won't mind a bit."

"Haha, I feel ya. Hit me up whenever you get here tomorrow and I'll get you your ticket."

"Thanks bro, I owe you one."

                        ...

"Damn, he has no talent out there," I thought, as I sat in the front row of UB Stadium. He wasn't kidding when he said that his team was young; their youth showed with multiple careless mistakes and other times where they didn't have the talent to stop an average ball club. I didn't really follow them last year, but it seemed like graduation hit them hard.

"Sack Central Florida," the PA announcer said as Brad was thrown down to the ground like a rag doll. "It's their sixth sack of the half." By halftime, it was 31-0 Golden Knights with Brad being the only bright spot on the Bulls with 93 passing yards and no turnovers.

It didn't get much better as they lost 42-6. After a decent performance in which he threw for 195 yards with no interceptions, Brad walked off the field with his head hung low. I knew it was tough for him to be playing on a team as bad as they were and it seemed that he had it worse than I did last year.

Maybe someday we would both find success. Yeah, someday...

Ouch...tough sleddin for Brad. Hopefully he can get a receiver out there...and you can get a quarterback. Cuse and Buffalo in a bowl game would be awesome tho

                                Meeting Up With the Enemy

A great week of practice had team confident that we could take down South Carolina on Saturday. Flashbacks were constantly running through my mind throughout the week because of my experiences over the winter at their campus. It was going to be weird playing against a team I was moments away from joining.

I got out to the Carrier Dome early with Ryan to work on some routes and polish things up. We would need it as South Carolina came into the game with the second best secondary in the SEC. Ryan threw a bomb that I reeled in with one hand, but as I was continuing to run downfield, I had to avoid some Gamecock players that came out early themselves. One of those players was a familiar acquaintance.

                                -------------------------------------

"Hey Coach. Who's the recruit?" One of Coach Spurrier's star players asked.

"Probably the best one ever if he commits. Ethan Woy, meet Stephen Garcia. Stephen, meet Ethan," Coach Spurrier replied.

"Wait...are you that kid from Syracuse?" Stephen said, still shocked at finding out who it was.

"Yeah bro, what's good?" I introduced myself, as we shook hands.

"Well I'd be damned, what's up man?" he said with a smile, returning my handshake. "You're thinking about transferring down south huh?"

"Yeah, I'm thinking about it," I answered. "Syracuse isn't looking like the right decision on my part."

"You know we play them next year in Syracuse, right?" he brought to my attention.

"Shit. That might be a lil awkward, haha," I sarcastically said, knowing that it would be completely awkward if that were the case.

"Yeah you're telling me. Well hey listen, I got to get ready. Got a hot date with my girl tonight, haha. Want me to try to hook you up a chick from here?"

"Naw, I'm good Stephen. I'll talk to you later."

                                "Peace."

                                -------------------------------------

"Ready to get your asses whooped today?" I asked Stephen as I ran by.

"Shouldn't you be asking yourselves the same thing? At least we didn't get demolished by Boston fucking College," he chuckled as we shook hands.

We stayed in touch a little after I decided that I was staying at Syracuse, and I texted him earlier this week guaranteeing a big game on his team's secondary. He responded with a promise of 300+ yards and a few touchdowns, which I laughed at considering our secondary shut down All-American Jake Locker already.

"Hey we are a much better team than before," I scoffed. "And I'm coming for that Heisman, so tell your secondary they'll be seeing me in the end zone a lot this game."

"Haha, that's if your quarterback can get it to you," he replied. "Doesn't he have a shit load of picks already?"

"Eh, another first-year starter," I said, backing him up. "He'll learn by schooling your secondary today."

"Haha, we'll see. You wanna meet up after this?" he asked. "We can just chill or whatever, I don't care."

"Yeah sure, that's completely fine, man. The wifey will most likely want to tag along though," I sighed.

"Haha, yeah same here. Oh well, gotta have a good girl to hold you down, right?"

"I guess so. Good luck bro."

                                "You too."

As I jogged back to the locker room, I got a bad feeling about something. I didn't know what it was, but I was in for an unpleasant surprise...
