After the second quarter you pretty much handled yourself against Penn State. Down to the recruiting: You seem to do what I do! Call those ones every week and it seems to get them more and more interested in your team.

Yea. That's all you really can do, right? Unless you want to cheat and do all that recruiting shit like offering recruits more than one scholarship and shit.

Yea. I got demolished. I couldn't do anything. But starting in the 3rd quarter, I got things under control again.

Indiana Shrugs off Sluggish Start, Downs Penn State 31-17

Bloomington, IN - Indiana shook off an early 17-7 deficit to come back and beat the Penn State Nittany Lions 31-17.

"The first half was one of the worst first half's of our season," said coach Anthony Thompson, "but I was proud of our team because we came back and played the best second half of football that we've had all year. I'm really happy for our players." Added Penn State coach Rick Martini, who replaced Joe Paterno after he retired two years ago and has a career 17-4 record, "We just fell apart in the second half. When Indiana made a run at us, we couldn't take the heat and we collapsed. I take all the blame for this loss because I didn't prepare our guys enough for this game."

The game looked like it would be a defensive battle for the majority of the game. No one could do anything the entire first quarter (longest drive was 24 yards), and the score remained tied at 0 when the second quarter started. That's when Penn State woke up from their slumber and went on a roll. Kevin Newsome threw for 118 yards in this quarter, including two touchdowns and almost a third (receiver Derek Moye dropped a touchdown catch on their second drive, forcing Penn State to kick a field goal). Indiana, however, still couldn't do anything. Jammone Chester threw for a total of 28 yards and 4 interceptions in this quarter, but shook off his terrible quarter long enough to lead Indiana on a quick scoring drive. "Like I have many times this season, I thought the game was over," said defensive tackle Milton Owens, who had 3 tackles and a sack in this game. "I didn't think we had a chance of coming back against a powerful Penn State team. After all, they were the 8th best team in the nation."

The second half was the end of the game. Indiana caught on fire, and the opposite happened to Penn State. While Indiana couldn't be stopped, Kevin Newsome and Stephon Green couldn't get anything going offensively. While the Indiana defense stepped up their game and stuffed Penn State every play, the Nittany Lions' defense couldn't make a single stop the entire second half. Indiana outscored the #8 Nittany Lions 24-0 in the second half, the fist time in history that Penn State has been shut out for an entire half by the Hoosiers. "It's an unbelievable feeling," said coach Anthony Thompson. "For the first time in my life I beat the 'unbeatable' Penn State Nittany Lions. It's a great feeling."

Knocking off the 8th ranked team in the nation isn't the only good thing for the Hoosiers. They now have a one game lead over the 2nd place Ohio State Buckeyes in the Big 10. With win next week over Purdue, Indiana will win their first ever outright Big 10 title. "I never dreamed it would happen," said John Capilami, a fan of the Hoosiers who has held season tickets for 41 years.

Indiana hopes to seal their Big 10 title with a win over Purdue next week, followed by a bye week. They then will close out their season with a tough game against the Arizona Wildcats.

If you remove a player from your database after you've offered him a scholarship, the offer goes away. So if your school his first in his interest, you can remove him and put him back on your list then save the dynasty. Then you can offer him a scholarship, and if he doesn't commit to your school just exit out of your dynasty and go back in. After 10-15 minutes, he'll commit and you spent 15 recruiting minutes to snag a guy.

Yep, LOL. Does sound about right. But I'm just writing down the stats that were listed on the Heisman watch list, and they don't list turnovers of any kind. So for all we know he could have thrown 20 or 30 interceptions.

I haven't succeeded until Indiana wins a National Championship though, so they aren't a real powerhouse yet.

I'm starting an update now, and if you're wondering why I'm posting at 12:00, it's because we had a snow day today

                            2011 Old Oaken Bucket Preview

(AP) - The 2011 Old Oaken Bucket battle between the Indiana Hoosiers and the Purdue Boilermakers is currently the most anticipated football game of the year for both of these teams. The annual Oklahoma-Oklahoma State rivalry game has been bumped off the ESPN lineup because of this game, all of the tickets have been sold, and there are over 50 million viewers expected to watch the game. Why? Indiana has a chance to do something that has never happened in the Big 10; they have a chance to win their first outright Big-10 Championship and earn a spot in the National Championship Game. True, they will have to face a tough Arizona team on the road two weeks after tomorrow. But a win today will lock up the Big 10 title, and that will probably force the computers to put them in the BCS Title game.

That being said, Purdue is no pushover. They have won their fair share of big games this year (they upset USC on the road, they upset now #5 Georgia, and they lost to Boise State by 3 points), but they also have blown countless games that they should have won (Purdue gave up 42 straight points to Michigan State in a 45-38 loss). "If they could redo their season, they would probably be a top 25 team," said Hoosiers coach Anthony Thompson. "They are a very good team, and we will definitely have a hard time against them."

The Boilermakers are 5-6 with two wins in the Big 10 and will probably miss a bowl game for a third straight year. Indiana is 8-1 and 2nd in the country. So what could possibly make this game watchable? There have actually been quite a few amazing games in this series:

                            1930:
Indiana (1-6 at the time of the game) upset the one-loss Boilermakeres 10-6
1936: Indiana and Purdue fought to a 20-20 tie, resulting in both teams finishing 3rd in the Big 10
1945: Indiana won their only conference title with a 26-0 win over the Boilermakers
1948: Purdue won the bucket from Indiana for the first time in 5 years
1962: Winless Indiana upset the Boilermakers 12-7, giving the Hoosiers their first win over Purdue in 15 years.
1967: Indiana upset #3 ranked Purdue, which gave Indiana a tie for the lead in the conference and the Hoosiers first trip to the Rose Bowl (they lost to USC once they got there)
2007: Indiana beat the Boilermakers 27-24 on a 49 yard field goal with 30 seconds left. The win placed Indiana in their first bowl game since 1992 (they lost this bowl game also).

Could we see another gigantic upset tomorrow? Tune in to ESPN at 8:00 to find out.
