Blog Update 1

Hey guys! I'm Drew Henson, starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, and welcome to my blog. Right now, we are currently 3-1 and leading the NFC West division. No one expected us to be in this position, and hell, I didn't even expect to be wearing Cardinals red and white this season. I figured I'd hold a clipboard for Quincy Carter at Dallas all season and get an opportunity for the starting job next year. Thanks to Dennis Green for realizing my potential and taking a chance on me. So far it's definitely panning out, I mean, look at my numbers. (1324 passing yards, 11 TD, 5 INT) Those look pretty good for a rookie, huh? Can't hype myself up too much, my teammates have been great too. Emmitt Smith has really taken me under his wing on the ins and outs of being a player in the National Football League. I was awestruck when I first met him and to play with him is a blessing. Boldin and Fitz have been amazing catching my passes; they're the main reason for my success. We play San Francisco this week, so hopefully we can get a win. Josh McCown, the man I replaced, was traded there, but Tim Rattay starts instead of him, so we won't have to worry about him playing the game of his life due to revenge, haha. I'll try to update my blog about every two weeks, so if you viewers/followers have any questions for me, make sure to post them and I'll get to them next update. Blog Update 2

About time I post another blog. We're still playing well; up to 9-1 now. I'm still in the league leaders for all the passing statistics, which proves I'm not a fluke. Teammates are helping me out though a lot, and the return of Bryant Johnson will take this team to new heights. Looks like my fans have e-mailed me some questions, I'll get to them now.

Drew, did you ever yourself being this successful in the Cards system?

Well I figured I'd play well, but I'm surprised on how well. Helps that the offense is based around me and my talented receivers.

What was your first thought after being traded to Arizona?

I'm going to get to play! Haha, seriously. We were four-deep with quarterbacks in Dallas, so I knew I needed to get out of there to get a chance to play. I'm thankful for the situation I'm in.

Drew, what is the best thing about living in Arizona?

I love the weather here. People complain it's too hot, but compared to New York, Michigan and the other places I've lived, it's great. Good looking women over here as well.

Drew, what do you think about the rebirth of Emmitt Smith's career in Arizona?

I'm excited about it. I knew he still had some gas left in the tank, and I've always been a big fan of his. Handing the ball off to him is like a dream come true.

Drew, how much easier does it make your job having Fitzgerald and Boldin to throw to?

Sooooooooooo much easier, haha. Sometimes it seems like my grandfather can go out there and put up numbers like me just cause he'd be throwing to Q and Fitzy. They really can bail me out on some of the stupid-ass throws I make during a game.

Yeah, it hurt. But it's not like PIT didn't deserve it, so I managed to get over it.

Yeah, I've been through the same hurt with championship games. Titans falling one-yard short in the Super Bowl, Cards getting swept by the Red Sox, etc. The Pens and Wings will be contending for the Cup for the next few years though, so maybe we'll get another matchup.

NYJ- Brent Smith, G (hairline arm fracture - questionable) | Dedric Ward, WR (lower leg stress fracture - out) | Jerricho Cotchery, WR (torn calf - out)
ARZ- Adrian Wilson, SS (fractured arm - probable) | Bryant Johnson, WR (torn bicep - out)

Pre-Game Matchups

Jets QB Chad Pennington (179-309, 2169 yards, 15 TD, 10 INT) vs. Cardinals QB Drew Henson (173-287, 2802 yards, 20 TD, 11 INT)

Pennington has had a good year for the Jets, who currently are second in the AFC East behind the Buffalo Bills. However he goes against a tough Cardinals secondary who has totaled 18 interceptions in the last five games. Scary. Henson has been great the last few games and will look to do the same against the "other" New York team.

Jets HB Curtis Martin (159 carries, 582 yards, 8 TD) vs. Cardinals HB Emmitt Smith (203 carries, 766 yards, 11 TD)

Martin is near the league leaders in rushing touchdowns. He could have a big game against this Cardinals group who left Stephen Davis last week run for over the century mark. Smith had another 100+ yard game last week and is looking like vintage Emmitt all over again.

Jets WR Justin McCareins (37 catches, 477 yards, 3 TD) vs. Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (71 catches, 973 yards, 6 TD)

Look at the numbers here - total mismatch. McCareins leads the Jets in receiving, but that's because Santana Moss has been hurt for part of the year. He's back now, so he should have an impact. Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin are amazing, they're unbelieveable, blah, blah, blah. You get the picture.

Prediction: Cardinals 27, Jets 20
