Upcoming Marvel Superhero Movies

Saw Captain America 2 last night. Really liked it. Has more of a straight action movie than any Marvel so far, almost Bourne-esque. The action sequences were all really well done IMO, with the typical good work put in by Chris Evans, ScarJo and Sam Jackson. I liked Redford, he seemed to be having fun. For those that have read the comics (obviously Brubaker's Captain America was the influence) I think it was pretty faithful. Brubaker actually had a cameo in the film!

There were two stingers after the movie (as always). For whatever reason, everyone but my wife and I plus 3 others left after the first. The second isn't amazing, but whateves.

First stinger shows Baron von Strucker with Loki's infinity gem. They are using it to experiment on people, most of which have been failures...except two. The twins. Slow reveal and it's Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, both of whom look really good. An interesting way to get them in the universe without having them be mutants.

Second stinger is just Winter Soldier looking at the Bucky Barnes exhibit in the Smithsonian. I can't imagine there is room for him in Avengers 2, but I assume he'll be back in Cap 3

Captain America did absolutely nothing wrong. There was nothing I disliked about it. Why then do I not love it? It just feels like a good movie to me.

Besides the first Iron Man and the Avengers, this was probably the best Marvel movie thus far.

Loved the little sprinkles in this movie - Fury's gravestone with the Pulp Fiction reference, Dr. Strange name drop, Abed as a member of SHIELD, Wargames reference, Black Widow's arrow necklace (Hawkeye), etc.

Just got back from seeing Winter Soldier

THAT is a Captain America movie. I liked the first one alright, but it doesn't touch Winter Soldier IMO. Action, set pieces, and fighting choreography were all top notch. Like others have said, it doesn't feel like the typical Marvel hero movie and is more grounded while still being able to fit into the MCU.

Captain America The Winter Soldier was...



The only way I could possible describe it...its Skyfall with Captain America.

Why do we get shit like Iron Man 2 + 3 and the Thor films when THIS type of film is possible in the same bubble with the same characters?

Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier...so good. Next to Loki, the best Marvel "villain". This film had so many layers...sure, it had the plot within its own film, but it had expanded Captain America's own movie universe and changed the entire Avengers ecosystem. All while being pretty fuckin awesome.

Post-credit scenes were definitely not throw-away, either. Those type of scenes are why you have post-credit scenes.

And Palooza hit the nail on the head with...SO MANY NUGGETS in this film. It'll obviously cater to the average fan...but so many nuggets for the hardcores.

They knocked Falcon out of the park. I'd be disappointed if he's not in Avengers 2.

saw it on Friday, I was really excited and in the end I was really happy with it, one of the better Marvel movies to have been made. about haflway when the Winter Soldier gets some major screen time Im thinking, oh shit.....there's so much going on and theyre gonna shoe horn this entire thing into the last half hour...and they didnt... this was just the 1st part, Huge stuff is going down and they allow the winter soldier plot to breathe and theyve really only scratched the surface of the plot, and btwn that and the 1st teaser I cant fukin wait for the Next Cap.

excellent casting all around, I initially thought Evans was miscast and this was the 1st time Ive really bought him as Cap, he seems to be coming into his own in the role, Falcon is one of the better characters to be adapted to film, scarlet Johansen is one of the baddest bitches alive, Shaw brought a cold ass demeanor to the winter soldier, mutherfuker is basically Jason, especially in that epic highway shootout scene; but sells his internal conflict well.

Bucky is going to take over as Captain America at some point in these movies and I personally can't wait for it. Shaw was excellent. I'm not sure when Chris Evans contract runs up, it's either after the Avengers or after Captain America 3.
