Even if they shock the world and sign Lee, I'd hate to see that team in 6-7 years when both Lee and Werth are old as hell and not worth $20+ million at all.
Didn't say the winning tradition would happen overnight. A 2012 Nats squad with Strasburg, Bryce Harper, Ryan Zimmerman, Jayson Werth, Cliff Lee, and Drew Storen would be impressive

Some baseball people are saying there's no truth the Nats are in on Lee. Others say they want to make a statement. Rumor mill FTW!

As for 2012...I'd have to see more names before I agree.

Unfortunately a 2015 Nats squad with a 36 year old Jayson Werth making $18 million.

          Not quite as cool.

Latest is that some team (not the Nats) has offered Lee 7 years while the Yankees remain at 6 years.

                A pretty good read.

Nats are being "aggressive" on Greinke.

The Oakland Athletics and Washington Nationals agreed to a trade of outfielder Josh Willingham for two players.

Didn't want to make a new thread but the Nats traded Josh Willingham to the A's for 2 prospects. RP Henry Rodriguez throws serious heat and could be an 8th inning guy for us allowing Clippard to do more of a long relief role.

                    We also resigned Chien-Ming Wang
