To me, its Jose Reyes. He's a career .285 hitter with a .334 OBP. He's never hit more than 19 home runs and had 81 RBIs in a year. He is a huge threat to steal, but I've never understood a lot of the hype surrounding him. Great ballplayer, but in my mind, he's overrated.

My other player is Adrian Beltre, and I'm sure most of you guys know the reasons behind that.

                    Reyes is a good pick.

Do people still think Zito and Drew are any good?

The one thing I'll say for Reyes is he's amazing to watch in person. I once saw him hit a triple from really great seats behind home plate. It was one of the top baseball moments I've ever witnessed. He was batting LH and hit a shot to the right field gap that one hopped the fence, I swear he was at third base before the ball even got back to the relay man.

So a lot of his hype is based on his insane tools. I agree that he needs to put together a better leadoff man repertoire and stay healthy for a change, but he's not as overrated as his teammate David "E5" Wright.

Reyes isn't even the most overrated player on the Mets.

                        Francisco Rodriguez.

Watching him now for as long as he's been in New York...I don't get it. I thought he was suppose to be one of the elite closers in the game, not even close.

With Reyes, the guy is not consistent whether it's health or OBP. He's a beast on the basepaths and offers great defense (although he's good for about 15 errors a full season). At his best, he's a 15 HR guy with 70+ RBIs, 50 SBs, a .360+ OBP, a .285 BA, 20 triples. At the top of the line-up, he's one of the biggest difference makers around.

When he's not playing, it fucking sucks. When he's too busy swinging at shitty pitches, it sucks.

How is David Wright overrated? I haven't heard anyone say he's the best fielding 3B. He'll make too many damn errors and he probably didn't deserve the GG the two years he got them...but he's paid to hit and he does that well.

Hope you're looking forward to paying him $17 million next season if he pitches in 55 games this year. That's such an absurd amount of money for any closer, much less one as meh as K-Rod now is.

Then why did he win two gold gloves?

Probably? He has 130 errors in 8 seasons and 37 combined in his two gold glove seasons. His offensive contributions are great (minus the year he forgot how to hit HRs) but he is billed as an all-around player which he, frankly, is not.
