Homer Bailey is kinda scrubby. Mike Leake is pretty good. Waiting on Travis Wood.

You take Ubaldo over all of them...

Maybe you get Leake back in a deal, but the package of minors players needs to be pretty substantial.

If the Reds got Ubaldo that would be huge. He is the top of the line Ace pitcher we need. I just don't wanna give up Leake for him. I could deal with Wood or Homer, preferably Wood tho.

No he isn't. He was last year. He had a career year. He walks the ballpark and his stuff isn't anywhere near what it was last year.

I'd do something with Wood, but not the other two. I still think Wood will probably be better than Leake, though. Bailey has the best stuff of the three and is awesome when he is healthy. But staying healthy has been an issue.

Well obviously the talent is there. All it may take is a change of scenery for him. You gotta be shitting me if you dont think Ubaldo is exactly what the Reds need.

Ubaldo from last year, yes. I'd also like to get 1968 Bob Gibson while were at it.

I just glanced at his numbers. The walks are down from earlier in the year, so that's encouraging. I don't think its a huge upgrade from Leake. Don't get me wrong, I'll take him. I'd do Wood or any package of minor leaguers. Not sure about Leake or Bailey AND more.

Personally I would give up whatever prospects the Rockies wanted for him, but I highly doubt the Phillies would make an offer.
              Yeah, but you're the Phillies.

When you're the Reds, you need to have these good young players like Leake & Wood who are under team control and cost very little for four more seasons.

Ubaldos contract is 4 years 10 mil thru 2012, then it has 2 team options on it. Thats not anything out of this earth

The more I think about it, the more it might be worth a dice roll. I'd still be weary of giving up Leake or Bailey.

I agree with you on that. I'd much rather get rid of Wood or Volquez, and Alonso. But we'll see. I think its worth the shot. Its not like we'll be paying him out the ass if he sucks, his contract isnt bad at all

Dodgers acquired OF Juan Rivera from the Blue Jays for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
The Dodgers also acquired cash in the deal. The Jays took on Rivera's $5.25 million salary this offseason in order to unload Vernon Wells' bloated contract on the Angels, but grew frustrated over the course of the first half and DFA'd Rivera last week. The 33-year-old outfielder has batted just .176 since June 16 and is hitting only .243 on the year with a .666 OPS. It also doesn't help that he's been a butcher in the outfield. With the Dodgers, expect him to be used against left-handed pitchers, a platoon role he should acclimate well to.

If the Mets can move Beltran to Philly for Dominic Brown...would you do it?

                          I'm thinking yes.

^^^That's a no-brainer. If you are the Mets and you could get Brown for Beltran - of course you take it.

I would be shocked if this were an actual possibility though.

That's a no brainer, but don't expect Brown to be a superstar at Citi Field. He doesn't seem like a 30 HR type to me.
