It would make no sense for Dwight to sign an extension right now. He would only be able to get 3-years right now. If he waits until the end of the year he can get 5-years.

The Los Angeles Lakers are also expected to receive Chris Duhon and Earl Clark while the Magic get a second-round pick in the Dwight Howard deal, sources tell Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.

Duhon will add depth behind the 38-year-old Steve Nash and will likely compete with Steve Blake for the backup duties. Earl Clark really struggled in earning playing time for the Magic by playing just 12.4 minutes in 15 games in 2012.
