I have no sympathy for the Magic.

The offer the Nets put out there is IMO a much better offer to give up Howard...and who knows what other pieces they could have obtained.

Package of Lopez (outside top 10 centers, can get 16-19/8rpg), Brooks (imo will be 17/19ppg scorer at peak), Humphries (double/double man), 3 first rounders is much better than the crap they received.

they overplayed their hand and got bit in the ass.

That Rockets deal was pretty good for the Magic.

Lakers are gonna go through the same problems Miami went through in year one of the super friends.
It will take more than one year for Nash, Bryant, Gasol and Howard to become a championship team.

bad comparison, all-stars are being added to a Championship savvy team. There's a better chance this could be more like the Celtics when the big 3 had 1 year together....of course I have no clue how all will relate to Brown ?

              Disagree.

This is a complete team makeover, much like the Heat. Yes, Kobe and Gasol are championship savvy, but the rest of that team isn't.

This is a complete makeover and will need 18 months or so to get it right. And, one has to wonder about Dwight Howard. Clearly not a championship-oriented player. Simply about Dwight. Hell, he didn't even want to play for the Lakers.

apparently what everyone is saying is they didn't want that brook lopez max deal they just wanted to rebuild, but the best offer for that was the rockets deal

have no idea why the magic chose the deal with the lakers, but I really don't give a fuck

                  RIP

In fairness to Kobe, a setup like this needs an alpha male.

Miami didn't become a true championship team until LeBron just said fuck it and took all the important shots.
Los Angeles will need the same thing, not just four guys who are all timid at crunch time because they're afraid of offending the other super friends.

Yes but Lebron always took the big shots sometimes they just didn't go in. The thing with Miami was that guys like Norris Cole, Mike Miller and Shane Battier stepped up and hit big shots. Miami is setup for a big fall I don't trust Wade to stay healthy.

How are you even going to compare LeBron's situation to this? We all know who is getting the important shot and that's Kobe Bryant. There is no doubt in my mind he is the #1 option. If for some reason he can't get it off (kobe gets just about any shot he wants) then Steve Nash will be the guy. Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol are not guys that are going to be taking your important shots in the post when you have PG and SG they have.

The heat were like 13-1 or something ridiculous last year without Wade in the lineup. They now have Ray Allen on the team. If anything, they are stronger this coming season.

That was what I was saying. I thought it was obvious.

Kobe Bryant is the alpha male on the new "Super Friends" Lakers.

Gasol and Nash are Euro Canadians. They don't care about being alpha males.

Dwight Howard is an athletic freak who can neither spell athletic or freak ... he will fall in line.

Kobe is the alpha male here.
