If you don't bring black people, who will play in the game?
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

In what is being described as an incident of racism, a school district in Texas has filed a complaint after some rival high school students chanted “U-S-A! U-S-A!” to celebrate a basketball victory. And some of the students involved have now been punished and forced to apologize.

Student supporters at Alamo Heights High School started the celebratory chant after their team clinched a regional championship against San Antonio Edison High School on Saturday, the San Antonio News-Express reported.

Edison High School is predominantly Hispanic, and officials at the San Antonio Independent School District took the chant as a racial insult from supporters of the largely white Alamo Heights team.

According to the News-Express, the chant lasted only about five seconds before Alamo Heights head coach Andrew Brewer quickly silenced the students. Nevertheless, SAISD athletic director Gil Garza on Tuesday filed a complaint with the University Interscholastic League, which oversees extracurricular activities in Texas public schools.

Duke men’s basketball coach Mike Kryzewski wanted to show his team the facilities at his alma mater, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. The players got some pointers from an Army instructor and then tried out some laser M4 carbines and M240 machine guns on a simulation range.

These were, again, not real guns, and were being used on a U.S. Army installation under the supervision of uniformed military personnel. You’d think even the most rabid gun control advocate would have had no objection, but you would be wrong.

W2B said it best - fuck Sterling, my issue is with that sorry-ass sista. Nothing bed massa's bed wench.

@ralaw - it's the plantation mentality. Make money off niggers, fuck their women and keep them in their place.

Think the NAACP wants to take back the award they gave this fool several years ago?

Silver needs to do something. No way they try to clean up the players image making them wear suits then let this go. If nba really doesn't do something about this I think the backlash is going to be huge by the fans.

As a lifelong clippers fans we always heard about sterling and his rants but now it's out and has to be addressed. Sht really makes me not want to keep supporting th team.

Why would an old white man being racist(shocker) give people a reason to watch the nba? I feel like I'm reading an espn column.

The NAACP gave him an award? Really? Even celebrities like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson know better than this ... I hope.

Of course the media will do this story to death, and make Sterling the poster boy for bigotry. But most of these old-ass sports owners are no different, so let's get real here.

And yes Dave, Sterling received an award from the NAACP. How far has that organization fallen?

I think my favorite part of the audio is when Sterling says "Now I don't even feel like going out. I don't feel like going anywhere. Not to Europe, not anywhere."

LOL. This is the non rich person domestic fight equivalent of "We're not going to Olive Garden now, I can tell you that!"
