The reason why Anthony Gonzalez committed to Pitt is because they were the only school that wanted him to play QB. Every other school wanted him as a safety, where he's better suited for the collegiate game.

Anyone watching the Byrnes vs. St. Thomas game on ESPNU right now?

Pretty good game with the #1 team in the country playing #2.

And what have Penn St.'s guys done that have come out?

Poz is a decent starter in Buffalo, and Dan Connor is a backup in Carolina.

In terms of guys in the league right now, I'd definately have to say Miami is LB U.

If you just look at the last 10 years, ya, Miami has more credentials to be LBU. That being said, if you look at just the last 10 years, USC has no reason to be called RBU. I'd be hard pressed to find a school that put out as many great RBs as USC and as many great LBs as Penn State.

Those names aren't just about the last 10 years, they are about the history in general.

After the evaluation of WR Levi Norwood, Penn State now has the 3rd best class in the country behind Texas and LSU.

Otherwise, DT Cassius Marsh has named LSU his leader and LSU has made the final 3 for DE "Ego" Ferguson. A D-Line of Davenport and Downs with Montgomery, Brockers, and Ferguson coming from the ends is looking quite good in a few years.
It would suck to lose Reed, but we do not need his commitment nearly as much as we need Seastrunk's IMO. Like you said, Hunter and Davis are a nice haul plus Randle last year....Not to menton 2011 is very stacked at wideouts and slot guys in the state of LA. It'd be nice to have Trovon as part of this class, but either way we're set at WR and always will be.

Seastrunk on the other hand, gives us that explosive threat out of the backfield we will need as early as next season.

Miami is linebacker U because not only do we put out big time players...but we have our backups drafted...Spencer Adkins, Darrell McClover...rarely saw time at linebacker...but drafted anyway.

Heck, even one of the Weaver twins was a priority free agent.

LSU picked up a huge commitment from California DT Cassius Marsh. Big guy, runs a 4.98 and has an awesome name. With 23 commitments in this class, look for Trovon Reed and Lache Seastrunk to be the last two pieces.

Dude has a badass name. Seastrunk has been saying LSU was his leader by a wide margin for a while now. It is only a matter of time before he gives us the verbal.
:Off topic: anyone remember the exact number of recruits an SEC team can sign since they issued the Nick Saban rule?

I think it's 27, but I'm not sure. I have read that we don't plan on over signing this year, and will keep at 25.
