this might as well of been a playoff game. a win today and the giants are cruising to a home playoff game but now there are gonna have to scrap to just get into the playoffs and if they do, most likely have to play the eagles again in philly. no thanks.

Your defensive co-ordinator lost that game.
The non-stop blitzing wasn't going to work all game.
He needed to mix up his playcalling.

          so many to blame

          1. Special Teams coach/Coughlin for not playing for an onside kick
          2. Offense for only being able to put 7 points in the second half
          3. Mario Manningham's fumble
          4. The Punter for kicking it STRAIGHT TO jackson
          5. Defense for letting Vick fuck them up and down the field
          6. On one 4th quarter third down, Eli threw the ball away instead of taking a sack...if he takes the sack, they go to OT

          blame goes all around

EDIT://// What do you know? 2007, week 15 against the 'Skins...Giants put up a stinker and lost, pushing them to 9-5. They then went to Buffalo in a must win game. They did just that.

            Teams and talented players adjust.
Neither team is significantly better than the other that they can get away with the same playcalling all game.

In fairness to your team, I don't think anyone saw that onside kick coming. I don't doubt that all other 31 NFL teams play that kick the way N.Y. did.
It caught me totally by surprise, because I wanted them to kick it deep.

When asked about not sending the hands team on the field for that onside kick, Coughlin's response:

A: We talked about the onside kick as a possibility. We didn't put our hands team in there, no. There were still seven and a half minutes to go and they were down two scores, so we didn't think it was necessary to do that at that time. There was no reason for us not to make a better play on the ball. We didn't have anybody even around the ball.

Amazing how we would have killed for some prevent defense in the 4th quarter

Coughlin took full blame for on-side kick.

Worst Giant game of my life-time that's for sure. Worst then Feely, VY, and the 49er game IMO. Never been more upset.

Interesting tidbits from today's talks with the media.

                          This is Tom Coughlin:
Q: How do you move forward? What did you do last night?
A: What did I do? I sat in a room with the lights out for about two and a half hours. It's not funny. It's not the way it's supposed to be.

                          Q: Really?
A: Yeah. Sure I did. What was I going to do? Join in on what festivities? What time of the year?

Q: How many losses have you had where you've gone and sat in the dark?
A: A few, unfortunately. Sometimes the Christmas lights weren't on.

Q: Is this the worst one that you can remember?
A: I'd say it's the worst one that I want to remember.

Q: Do you talk to anyone after a tough loss? What do you do?
A: My wife ignores me and I don't have a dog.

Q: What is your process for moving forward?
A: Phony facial expressions, lousy jokes, that kind of stuff.

                          Antrel Rolle

Q: You still have faith in Matt that he'd come through in a big spot if needed?
A: Absolutely. In order for you to get to the top, you have to hit the bottom first. We hit the bottom last night and I know he felt like Ray Finkle last night, but it's not on that. We're going to keep his head high because we know we're going to need him going on the back stretch and make sure that he understands that. I'm sure he understands that, and I'm sure in a situation like that next time he'll do a better job.

Q: Is this team going to make the playoffs?
                          A: I don't think. I know it. I don't think it, I know it.

                          Q: Why?
A: Because that's what going to happen.

Q: So is that going to happen this weekend?
A: I know it's going to happen this weekend.

Q: You have no doubt this team will bounce back from this?
A: I have no doubt. If I said it's going to happen, it's going to happen.

Q: What was Eli's message to the team?
A: Eli was Eli. He's a team leader, veteran, upstanding guy. Everything he said struck home and everyone could relate to exactly what he was saying. We're in this hole and it's not quite a hole because we still control ourselves. All we have to do is go out and win. We win and we're in. He just told us to put it behind us, we know what went wrong, and let's just keep fighting. Sometimes it's best to have your back against the wall and right now we have our back against the wall so we're just going to come out swinging.

Stealthshot, you are truly the biggest faggot on this forum. If the Jets lose yesterday, you wouldn't be here until Thursday at least.
