I love all these teens and 20 year olds talking about the greatest of Joe Montana like they actually watched him play a game that wasnt on NFL films

Thats the main reason i stay out of these threads most of the time. Ive never seen Montana play so I cant make a valid argument against Manning as being the greatest IVE ever seen. If I was older then maybe I could say Montana, but without watching even 1 of his games besides SB highlights I would just be driving myself into a hole.

When the Colts' offense is great, it is all about Manning being the greatest QB since the invention of the forward pass.

When the Colts' offense is held to 17 points and gives up a pick 6, it is all about how Manning did the best he could and those around him really needed to step up.

Please the Colts only scored 20 points in the Baltimore game and that wasn't an issue because the D stepped up and did their job. The problem isn't so much that the Colts only scored 17 the problem is that the defense played like shit, the special teams compounded the problem.

The Colts got into a situation where Manning had to try to match the other team score for score and he made a mistake. That played perfectly into the Saints hands because they've been winning that way the entire season.

Manning called a piss poor game after the first quarter. He abandoned the run in the second half and gave the game away with his pick 6. If you want to call him the OC on the field, he is to blame for their offense looking like shit.

I almost wish they'd take some of that power away or at least have somebody say "hey Peyton we're running on them here... we don't need you to throw it every down" It's almost like he feels the need to pass it on every down and win it on his own sometimes

I also somewhat blame the mentality of the team/coaching staff ... like Panda said the Colts treat the run like a trick play. They think it's something to only use when the opposition D is rushing three.

Montana had such a great set up with Walsh fucking up defenses, guys like Jerry Rice who would run the correct route, defenses that were some of the best around, an owner that would pay everyone to play for them, etc...

Montana is great, but some of you guys are just taking it to far, also throw in the Pats cheating during Mannings run and you probably took a super bowl or 2 from the Colts
