Honest question. Do you think Haley was better than Richard Dent? Dent is up for the HOF again this year, and it seems like every year their is a logjam of "pass rush specialists" that keep Dent out (Fred Dean, Derrick Thomas, etc.)

You're right, there is a log jam, but that's how it is. If a player wasn't obviously the best candidate for the HOF that year he won't get in. If Dent never gets in (and I hope he does) don't you think that sets a benchmark of how good you have to be? A player has to be at least this good to avoid waiting 20 years for the HOF. Seriously and in no way an argumentative point Sensor, what do you think?

No. And that's an excellent point.

Haley was a great pass rusher and a difference maker. Dent was better. He sometimes gets forgotten because unlike Haley, he wasn't a certified psycho.

But of the two of them, Dent should be in before Haley.

I can't put Brett in the top three like you do. To many critical playoff mistakes to do that. His reckless style of play worked well in the regular season, when giving a game away isn't critical. But in the playoffs, that's a different story. I'll take the playoff success over the regular season numbers.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I'm not sure that the Packers would have made the playoffs most of seasons over the years that Favre was there so it is a little disingenuous to blame him for not carrying the team all of the way on a regular basis when all of the other multiple Superbowl winning dynasties had multiple HoF players, not just "good players".

On the subject that came up earlier in the thread of "why didn't Favre run the ball" on that last play, here are some pictures of Brett Favre's left ankle and hamstring after the cheap shot from Bobby McCray (Bus Cook emailed them to a local reporter). The inside part of his ankle looks disfigured, I don't even know how he returned to the game....much less running the ball on a bootleg.

Either way the game was almost 2 weeks ago. Favre fucked up. Saints are going to the Super Bowl. Get over it. Back to Favre waffling this offseason. I am pretty sure he is coming back next season.
