Dodge is a large reason as to why the Giants woke up with another loss rather than a win; he's not the sole reason, and he's obviously not the only one.Comment

But Dodge IS to blame for the Giants NOT having a shot to go into overtime with them. While I agree they shouldn't have ever been in the position to lose such a 'locked' game, Dodge certainly isn't to blame.Comment

You're right dont blame the punter. Jackson dropped the ball still had time to pick it up and run around 10 yes 10 defenders who didnt tackle him for the win.
Plus who's to say if Dodge kicks it out of bounds Vick doenst take the next play to the house like he did verse the Vikings a few years ago.. Shit he already had 130 yards rushing whats 50 more.
I really want some1 to smash Jackson already. running along the goal line showboating like that and a Giant almost got to him. Cheer now because he's gonna do something stupid one day to cost Philly a big game.Comment

so many to blame
1. Special Teams coach/Coughlin for not playing for an onside kick
2. Offense for only being able to put 7 points in the second half
3. Mario Manningham's fumble
4. The Punter for kicking it STRAIGHT TO jackson
5. Defense for letting Vick fuck them up and down the field
6. On one 4th quarter third down, Eli threw the ball away instead of taking a sack...if he takes the sack, they go to OT
blame goes all around

Actually, it is Dodge's fault the Giants weren't in OT with a possible chance of winning the game. While I'm not short-sighted enough to blame everything on Dodge [they blew a 21 point lead for christ's sake], I'm not going to sit there and pat him on the back, "Tough game bud, you've been doing great all year, I'll give you a pass."

Not covering an onside kick with 7-minutes left and a two touchdown lead was probably worse than Dodge failing to punt it out of bounds. Nobody was anywhere near the front line.Comment

Didn't say anything about blaming the game entirely on Dodge. I understand the Giants blew a 21 point lead and let the Eagles back in that game.

Another big deal here is why even put the game on your punter if you know he is complete shit. Coughlin failed here as a coach, like Schwartz failed against the Jets.Comment

I just don't understand how anybody can NOT blame Dodge. He has a very simple duty as far as NFL athletes go - for him to not fulfill such a simple part of his job is absolutely inexcusable.Comment

No he isn't to blame. Check out DJ Rhude's post. What kind of idiot coach forces his team to pass with 55 seconds left? Your team just allowed 21 straight points, is completely shell shocked, and has absolutely no momentum. You do not try and run pass plays, period. You run the ball, kill the clock and hope to win the toss. So what if the G-Men had some timeouts left, Coughlin has to have better situational awareness in that situation.
Another big deal here is why even put the game on your punter if you know he is complete shit. Coughlin failed here as a coach, like Schwartz failed against the Jets.
All Dodge did was punt to one of the most dangerous return men in the NFL today with 8 seconds left, instead of kicking it out of bounds like he was asked to.
Yes, Dodge doesn't deserve all the blame. He just deserves a portion.Comment

To blame Dodge is to ignore the fact that nobody came close to tackling Jackson, and he ran straight up the middle. 5 guys ran to the right, and 5 guys ran to the left ... I can see if Jackson made someone miss, but all he did was drop the ball, stand up, and make one cut up field. He ran straight up the middle and only had the punter to beat.
Dodge fucked up, but the coverage unit should be more disciplined.Comment
