Maybe if Cutler wasnt picking himself up off the ground so damn much and the line blocked more. the damn safties and CBs were teeing off on him. He didnt even have time to hit Forte in the flat on three occasions that I counted and he was wide open.

i think there is a difference.

      quitting is quitting.

heart is a desire and determination to play no matter what the cost. Willis Reed had it. Rudy had it. phillip rivers has it.

ladanian tomlinson did not have it. jay cutler does not have it

people play thru MCL all the time. people also play thru other injuries all the time. Shit man, even rookie colt mccoy played thru a serverly sprained ankle this year. try planting or being mobile on one of those. he hobbled around the entire game on one leg. Yeah it hurts like a bitch but you play thru it.

if this had been any other regular season game...no problem. But its the fucking NFC title game....get you ass in there and play you pussy

further damage? you mean like its going to tear more? once its torn its torn, u cant tear it more.

edit...i should correct that. i am assuming it was a complete tear and not a partial. if it was a partial and he didnt play then any one defending him should be shot

Willis Reed scored 4 points and Rivers threw 2 picks and his team lost, btw.

Obviously, it depends on the severity of the tear, but from my experience it is an injury that you can play through.
You want your QB to be planting and throwing with that?

ok...but look at the respect they earned. and not what they earned, but more so its what they didnt lose.

there is no way jay cutler survives this. you know dam well his team is thinking the same thing despite what the guys said during post game interviews.

him playing at 100% would not have changed the outcome of this game. So that really isnt the point to having him play injured. Its about being the leader and having the respect of the locker room. He was never their leader, but at least he had their respect....until now

If thats how you feel then i cant argue. I disagree, im not in the business questioning anybody's pain tolerance, or heart. I just want to point out again tho, he was advised not to play, and did. And then medical staff and HC decided it was a better option if he didnt play.

And im not sure if you knew or not, but Norv Turner pulled LT that game against his will. And as Fedex said, phillip and willis lost, and Rudy was a crash test dummy for four years and got a sack out of it. Ask Joe Montana how he feels about Rudy...lol (its a funny story).

To be fair, Willis didn't lose but the Knicks did not win because of him. Clyde Fraizer had an unbelievable game and still to this day feels slighted because the story was all about Reed and not about him and his dominant game.

I would make fun of Cutler over the way he whined his way out of Denver. I would make fun of Cutler over his Brett Favre-esk Gunslinger ways where you can count on the bad Cutler int fest to come out far too often.

I won't make fun of him for leaving the game with a torn MCL. He was already not playing well. He stays in and he plays even worse with a loose knee that would now be even more susceptible to bending the wrong way. Makes me think that would greatly increase the tear of other knee tendons.

If you can't play and be effective, especially due to injury, then the best thing you can do for your team is to have someone who will be more effective go in and play.

                      I just hate knee-jerk reactions/responses.

They have respected him and will continue to do so. he got his ass kicked all season long and never called anyone out. So now he has a torn MCL and he will lose their respect?

Im finding that all of this has waaaaaay more to do with his, once again, waaiitt for it.....BODY LANGUAGE.

To me its laughable, we see three second clips of him on the sideline, but we all assume we know what goes on the other 95% of the time on the sideline. How do we know that as soon as the camera is off of him, he turns to Caleb for encouraging words?

The bigger indicator would be the way his teammates backed him. Well to me at least...

Non Bear fans don't realize that Jay Cutler acted like that in our 12 wins this season, including the blowout of Seattle in the playoffs.

He's had the same look on his face all year. Why is it still a story?

I really can't believe you're hating on Rivers Fedex. The guy showed toughness and the mental strength to overcome serious pain in order to help his team. He put his team ahead of himself and his career.
