Why? That makes zero sense. The schools are willing & wanting to pay for their scholarships.

The schools wanna pay for the scholarship!

Schools wanna land good players so they can field a good team so they can generate revenue.

It makes perfect sense for schools to give players a "free ride" when THATS WHAT THEY WANNA DO.

And the boosters would indirectly foot the bill anyway because they donate to the school, to have money for scholarships, to have good players, to have good teams.

The only part that doesnt make sense is your logic.

Why would the school hand out thousands/millions of dollars in scholarships if they could just let the booster and endorsement deals do it.

You honestly think that the if the schools were presented with a chance to cash in on the kids and not have to pay for their schooling they wouldn't take it?

The schools would band together to have a chance at saving/making more money if they didn't have to give out scholarships. You really think they wouldn't capitalize on that?
