Hold up, ima go out with a bang:
So everyone who wants a rematch of LSU-Alabama for the national title is even more retarded than me right? Because i only want that rematch for the SEC title, not the national title. Lets have a poll and see how retarded my idea really was, then ill be out either way.

Another stupid situation that may occur would be for LSU to defeat Arkansas and Oklahoma to defeat OK St., but then have LSU and Oklahoma lose in their conference championship games...giving us a national title matchup of Alabama vs. Oklahoma State, when neither school won their own division, much less their conference.

If thats the case, than how does LSU beating Alabama hold any significance if they play in the NC game. If the regular season is a glorified "playoff", than wouldn't they be eliminated from the NC race if LSU is in the game?
No. There is no sport that plays more meaningless games, by percentage, than CFB. There are almost 70 teams that never play a single meaningful game! Eliminated before they ever take the filed!
More like "Every game counts! For like 40 teams! Until they lose one!"
CFB even manages to have a postseason where only 1 out of 20+ games counts.Comment

I'm with zoneblitz on this one. The divisional setup is usually just an arbitrary arrangement of the teams, and there is even cross-divisional play. My solution would be to say screw divisions, screw conferences. Take the #1 and #2 teams in the preseason poll, have them play each other 11 times during the year, then the year ends with those teams playing each other for a 12th time in the BCS Title game.

Since this thread has devolved, let's talk about how strange the LSU-Alabama rivalry is:
Of course Alabama is way ahead due to their dominant stretch in the 60s and 70s, but LSU has won 9 of the last 12. The crazy part of this rivalry is that the road team usually wins.
LSU went 0-15 vs. Alabama at Tiger Stadium from 1971 to 1999. And on the flip side, since the Tigers win in Birmingham in 1982, Alabama is just 4-11 in home games against LSU.Comment

i dont know why i didnt think of this before, but according to zoneblitz, the Seahawks shouldnt have made the playoffs for winning their division last year... And the Cardinals and Chargers in 2008? Yea fuck them for winning their division, their are "better" teams out there... are you starting to see how retarded your argument is zoney??Comment
