its a damn shame too, looks like a wasted draft pick if this is true

Jason Campbell finished the preseason 21-of-41 for 290 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.
Campbell looked really bad in the first two preseason games but was very sharp in the last two. It's a make or break year for Campbell as he heads into the final year of his contract, but he's still a mediocre QB2.Comment

Redskins QB Jason Campbell confirmed reports that WR Devin Thomas remains behind the curve mentally.
"It's not a play here, a play there," said Campbell. "Every play is important. You've got to be where you're supposed to be every time. If you want people to depend on you, you've always got to be focused." Ouch. It's not often that a quarterback will publicly criticize a receiver, but Thomas is in dire need of the wake-up call. It's also nice see Campbell taking charge of the offense after a trying offseason.Comment

Redskins placed QB Colt Brennan (hamstring) on injured reserve.
An MRI revealed that Brennan had a torn hamstring after he had to leave Thursday's game. This seems to open up the No. 3 quarterback spot for Chase Daniel, but it's not guaranteed yet.Comment

Shaun Suisham has won the Redskins' kicking job, according to Brad Biggs of the National Football Post.
Suisham was in a very tight battle with Dave Rayner. It's a little surprising Suisham won because of his 72.2 percent accuracy last season and he'll probably be on a short leash. You can do better at your kicker spot.
THIS SUCKS, WE NEED A BETTER KICKERComment

According to Jason Reid of the Washington Post, RB Marcus Mason has made the roster.
It's a little bit of an upset. Mason struggles in pass protection but obviously showed enough this year. He'll be the fourth running back behing Clinton Portis, Ladell Betts and Rock Cartwright. The Redskins cut Mason at this time a year ago.Comment

Redskins released WR D.J. Hackett.
It was the Marko Mitchell show for the Redskins this preseason and that was that for Hackett. He might get some bites around the league as a guy with major NFL experience.Comment

Redskins released RB Anthony Alridge.
It's a little surprising, but Marcus Mason had such a good camp it would have been tough to keep Alridge. He's really fast and could latch on as a scatback somewhere else.Comment

Beat writer Ryan O'Halloran thinks Marcus Mason could be used in short-yardage situations.
Not sure if we're buying this or the Washington Post's claim that Mason will be Clinton Portis' backup before the season is over. Mason was a camp darling and deserved to make the team but we highly doubt he'd ever take carries away from Ladell Betts or Portis.Comment

As expected, the Redskins kept camp hero Marko Mitchell on the roster.
No one was more impressive than the seventh-round pick. Now the question is if he'll get playing time or even be active on Sundays. He'd have to eat into Devin Thomas' already limited snaps to get a look in games.Comment

Saints signed QB Chase Daniel to their practice squad.
Daniel could've went to Washington's practice team, but is making a smart move here. He can learn behind another highly accurate, if undersized passer (Drew Brees). The Saints' only other QB is 39-year-old backup Mark Brunell.Comment
-
Redskins signed QB Andre Woodson to their practice squad.
They preferred Woodson's big arm and upside to Chase Daniels'. It's not the greatest fit. Woodson is going from the Giants' vertical offense to Jim Zorn's precision-based short passing attack. Don't bet on the former All American pushing Todd Collins to be Jason Campbell's primary backup anytime soonComment

Colts claimed LB Cody Glenn off waivers from the Redskins.
The Colts inherit Glenn's $1.925 million contract. The fifth-round rookie will be used on special teams, and behind Clint Session and Phil WheelerComment

Colt Brennan said a torn labrum in his hip is what led to his season-ending hamstring problem.
Brennan, who went on I.R. Saturday, created some buzz for himself last preseason and was viewed as a possible sucessor to Jason Campbell, but a poor preseason this year stopped all that talk. The Redskins' quarterback situation will be very interesting next season, but Brennan's chronic hip woes (he also had surgery on the joint in 2008) can only work against him.Comment
