Colt Brennan and Chase Daniel will compete over the next two weeks for the Redskins' No. 3 QB job.

Brennan was supposed to give Todd Collins a run for the backup job, but didn't even come close. He has a 10.1 passer rating in the first two preseason games. Now Brennan is just trying to make the final 53.

I knew Marko was going to be special, i just saw something in him. If Chase can continue to do what he did against the steelers he will def make the finale 53

Redskins coach Jim Zorn says he may not settle on a No. 2 receiver "until a couple games into the season."

"They are really even," Zorn said of Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly. "It's a little bit clouded. I don't really have a decision to make yet, and I don't know if it will come that soon." This has become a situation to avoid in fantasy drafts

G Will Montgomery is a "near-lock" to earn the Redskins' final backup spot on the offensive line.

Montgomery battled Rueben Riley and D'Anthony Batiste throughout camp and impressed coach Jim Zorn the most. "Will has made his move that he's going to be part of this team. He's been tough as nails," said Zorn.

Free agent Shaun Alexander reiterated in an interview with 106.7 The Fan in D.C. that he wants to keep playing football.

"I am as strong and as explosive as I've ever been right now," said Alexander, who turns 32 on Sunday. "If somebody needs somebody to get in the red zone and do some work, I could probably still do that pretty well." We'd love to see a forty time on the guy. There's a reason that no teams are calling.

Some members for the Redskins organization have reportedly been put off by Colt Brennan's arrogance.

The beef is that Brennan has a swagger that has been unearned at the NFL level. Since the start of training camp, he's gone from pushing Todd Collins at No. 2 to fighting for his own No. 3 spot with undrafted free agent Chase Daniel.

Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall admitted he "got a little bit lazy" last season.

Hall also said he slacked off after signing a seven-year, $70 million contract with the Raiders in 2008. "When you get the money, it's easy to be content," said Hall. It's sounding like the mega-talented Hall has matured, but he'll have to prove it on the field before anyone believes him

Jason Campbell completed 13-of-22 passes for 209 yards and added five rushing yards with a touchdown against the Patriots Friday night.

Yes, you read that right: 9.5 YPA. Campbell certainly has the arm to go deep, and the playcalling finally allowed him to take advantage. The O-Line even blocked adequately enough to allow three pass-plays over 20 yards in the first half. Campbell finally got help from his coaches and teammates, and the results were promising.

Santana Moss caught five passes for 56 yards against the Patriots Friday night.

If he can stay healthy, Jason Campbell is going to look his way constantly this season. Moss was targeted nine times -- often on deep balls -- in just over a half. The highlight was a leaping, sideline circus catch that went for 21 yards. Moss is a fine WR3 buy this year

Devin Thomas caught three passes for 36 yards against the Patriots Friday night.

Malcolm Kelly started and caught just one pass for 11 yards. Thomas, coming on strong in the second and third quarters, looked like the better receiver. This offense isn't going to support a second fantasy receiver, so both youngsters are better off going undrafted.

Redskins No. 3 QB Colt Brennan had his third straight poor preseason game Friday.

Brennan threw a bad interception that was returned 99 yards for a touchdown; his second goal-line interception in as many games. He later hit Marko Mitchell on a 33-yard touchdown pass and finished 6-of-12 for 81 yards. Chase Daniel, who's reportedly pushing Brennan for the No. 3 job, didn't play Friday.

                            Redskins released LB Alfred Fincher.

Fincher, 26, got beat out by H.B. Blades and converted defensive end Chris Wilson to back up first-round pick Brian Orakpo at strong-side linebacker

The 23-year-old project was banged up in training camp

The former college QB couldn't pass late-round pick Marko Mitchell behind Santana Moss, Devin Thomas, Antwaan Randle El, and Malcolm Kelly
