Former teammate DeAngelo Hall believes the 49ers would be the perfect situation for Michael Vick.

Said Hall: "You’ve got a guy like Mike Singletary who’s known to motivate players, known to kind of get guys to just see the light ... I know Mike Singletary would love to have him out there." Hall's own Redskins are an interesting possibility for Vick as well.

SIGN HIM!!!! what the hell why not.

The National Football Post's Michael Lombardi believes the Albert Haynesworth tampering charges are a "non-story."

Lombardi acknowledged that he's seen tampering by other teams as well as those he's worked for in the past and considers it the cost of doing business in the NFL. Even if the Redskins did tamper in the "wild west" atmosphere of free agency, the league isn't likely to come down hard on them.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed Tuesday that Greg Ellis has permission to seek a trade.

"It's likely Greg will play somewhere else next year," Jones acknowledged. Jones did indicate that he's in no rush to release Ellis as he lets the lifetime Cowboy talk to teams he'd want to play for. Ellis could fit as a rotational 4-3 defensive end in Cincinnati, Jacksonville, St. Louis, or Washington

Redskins reclamation project Mike Williams now weighs 385 pounds, down from the 404 a month ago.

The 'Skins are trying to get him to the point where he can play every down for 16 games. To say that is a tall order would be an understatement.

Free agent LB Marcus Washington is "intent" on continuing his playing career.

The 31-year-old already rejected a one-year, minimum offer from the Skins, who've since moved on with Brian Orakpo on the strong side. Washington claims he's received interest from six teams, but he's gotten no other offers

The Redskins have moved Chris Wilson from defensive end to linebacker.

Wilson, who was undersized for an end, had four sacks as a rookie but just one last season. He'll likely back up rookie Brian Orakpo on the strong side.

Most league observers do not expect the Redskins to lose a draft pick for their alleged tampering with Albert Haynesworth prior to free agency.

The Titans aren't pushing it and it's very hard to prove. Dan Snyder dined with Haynesworth's agent, Chad Speck, on free agency's eve, but they could argue they spoke about receiver Malcolm Kelly, another Speck client. "(Titans GM) Mike Reinfeldt is just trying to cover his [butt]," one NFL executive said. "Everyone knew they weren't going to be able to re-sign Haynesworth."

Redskins.com's Gary Fitzpatrick believes Stephon Heyer is the favorite to start at right tackle following Jon Jansen's release.

We have to question this. Heyer has struggled with injuries and poor play, especially in the running game. Though Jeremy Bridges drew little interest on the free agent market due his legal issues, he's a better player than Heyer. Clinton Portis owners should be pulling for Bridges

Malcolm Kelly is able to make cuts as he continues to return from microfracture knee surgery.

The Redskins are telling Kelly to "take his time" getting back on the field and held him out of minicamps and OTAs. His ability to separate will be a major question mark in camp. Kelly already ran in the 4.7 range pre-surgery

First-round pick Brian Orakpo has continued to spend most of his time in the Redskins' linebacker meetings during OTAs.

Orakpo shouldn't get DL eligibility in IDP leagues as a stand-up linebacker on early downs. He will blitz with his hand down in nickel situations. As a 4-3 team, the Redskins using the 13th overall pick on a college end and converting him to outside linebacker was a highly unconventional move.

Two counts of simple assault and one of communicating threats against Redskins T/G Jeremy Bridges were dropped in a North Carolina Court on Monday.

While a Panther, Bridges was arrested on Dec. 7 for allegedly spraying champagne on customers at a restaurant on his and his wife's anniversary. Bridges is not expected to face discipline under the NFL's conduct policy.

Redskins coach Jim Zorn revealed at OTAs Monday that RG Randy Thomas recently had his knee scoped.

Zorn called Thomas "on schedule," but he had his knee scoped in spring '07 as well and is currently also coming off neck surgery. At age 33, Thomas has a lot of tread on his tires and Washington's line remains scary thin

Redskins LT Chris Samuels returned to drills Monday for the first time since undergoing triceps and knee operations in December.

It's not known how much Samuels was able to participate, but he's expected to be fully healthy in time for training camp. Samuels has shed weight to get down to 308 pounds in order to improve his agility in pass protection. The career Redskin and six-time Pro Bowler's old playing weight was 317

Redskins G Chad Rinehart, a 2008 third-round pick, has yet to win the confidence of his coaching staff.

Asked if he would feel comfortable with Rinehart playing if Randy Thomas misses time with injury, coach Jim Zorn responded: "I don't know if I would feel great because he has to show me something." The 'Skins need youth on the interior line, but Rinehart has been a disappointment thus far

The Redskins restructured Santana Moss' contract to save money under the salary cap, according to Profootballtalk.com.

The agreement converted most of Moss' 2009 ($3.7 million) and 2010 ($4.3 million) base salaries into "signing" bonuses to be spread out through 2013. The deal will void after 2010, however, so the extra three years are actually "dummy" seasons. The savings was $1.7477 million, or just a little more than the salary cap hit to dump right tackle Jon Jansen.
